WIW: Christmas brunch fit-and-flare

Merry day-after-Christmas, or Happy Boxing Day, if you celebrate it!

For Christmas day I went to brunch at a nice resort hotel. My SO picked out the dress while we were shopping at Anthro last month. I don't usually wear this color (vermillion) or cut (fit and flare) but it has a simple retro appeal to me. Knees were bothering me so I stuck to my oxfords and nude microfishnets. And I added a bit of green in my necklace for some subtle Christmas color

Cathy, this is so different for you! And I like it. The colour is fun and festive and so is the style. Love the jacket and oxfords with it; this gives the outfit a funky vibe that is so "you." Your hair looks different, too, no? Is the fringe new? Anyway - you look great!

Cute! The dress by itself is nice, but it's *great* with the jacket and oxfords. And yes, your hair does lend the entire ensemble a nice edge.

Thanks everyone! Glad to hear the oxfords work with the dress; my knees were bothering me so I couldn't wear heels, and my boots and booties were either too dark in color or too high in the heel! I need to take a picture of the back of the dress too -- it has a cool exposed double zipper. And the dress has a built-in slip/crinoline.

Suz -- yes, the fringe is new. I decided to try something different with the hair and this is the result. I haven't had a fringe for a looooooonnnngg time. Still not sure whether I'll keep the fringe long-term, but I do enjoy playing around with the hair!

As I said in my other post, flat oxfords and ballet slippers are a big visual difference - I like this much more than the outfit I'd posted.

I missed this when you originally posted it, but I've got to say you look great! It's an unexpected dress on you, but you've made it your own with the jacket and oxfords. And I love your hair!
