My love affair with dresses continues - I feel very much like a 1950’s housewife in this outfit (should I greet hubby at the door with a martini in hand?). I found this Anne Klein, fully lined, fit and flare navy eyelet dress in my favourite consignment store about a month ago and quickly snatched it up. I love the shirt collar on it, the modest but slightly sexy cross-over neckline, the cap sleeves and particularly the wide wrap around (almost obi style) self-tie belt. This dress accentuates my waist in a good way and hides all the other flaws. To play up the retro style of the dress, I’ve added my red and white polka dot peep toe pumps, my red quilted handbag and my vintage pearls. And of course, what would this outfit be without a swipe of red lipstick!

So what do you think of this outfit? Too much 1950’s for your liking? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.
