In previous episode:
After the second styling I was certain I wanted to alter the shirt. I figured it must work for the way I want to wear it. I did have a hope that the shirt can be sneaked under the fluid fit trend, but there were too many separate things that were putting me off it, so I'm trying equally to rescue it and play with it and learn from it.
So, I proceeded with the alteration, as mentioned in separate thread. Thanks for the input on it, I won't be replying to it so it doesn't resurface, I have read all the comments and opinions about the buttons too.
In tonight's episode:
I merged a few ideas from the Inge's inspiration photos (as seen in #2) and came up with what looked wearable, felt (al)most like me. I say almost because it's actually quite busy for my current preferences, but I was surprised how much I liked wearing this outfit.
Director's cut:
The final outfit took a while to come up with. I started with the striped tee and wanted to layer it under the chambray shirt as in the inspiration photo, but somehow it just felt off no matter what I did. I tried untucked shirt, unbuttoned, you name it, but it was just too loose, cowboy-ish and unfinished. As I wanted to keep the visible stripes and the all denim outfit + blazer just felt strange, I had to think a bit differently.
The striped short-sleeved turtleneck has 9 lives! I think I reached for it from the donation pile for the second time at least, every now and then it is the best piece to finish the outfit I have in mind.
Oh, yes - what did I say yesterday? No more denim on denim? Eating my own words.
Deleted scenes:
The outfit with the scrunched sleeves, as I actually wore it most of the time.
