Hi,
I am back from my conference and I have a couple of outfits to share. The new photo feature on the forum is amazing. I wonder, do people still prefer to see fewer outfits per post? Or is it less overwhelming now with this new feature?
Here we go:
1) I wore this to one of the days of the conference. I met lots of new people and caught up with old friends. I got a lot of compliments on this outfit. I have to say that while we are not a particulary fashion-minded bunch, like all disciplines in the academia, I saw many many stylish female colleagues around. It was scorching hot in DC, so modestly cut, form-fitting business dresses were the norm among women. The men also looked stylish with their business suits and ties. Unfortunately there weren't many PPL bottoms, especially among men.
2) I wore this to dinner with colleagues. This is another favorite dress of mine this summer, picked up by my mother-in-law for me in Turkey. I feel like I am letting the cat out of the bag, but if you are coming to NY reunion on Saturday, this is most likely the outfit that you will see me in.
3) We also did some sightseeing as well. The weather still had not cooled down at 7pm so a loose, cotton dress was in order. This is another, super casual dress that I wore quite often this summer. It has a flattering length and a very pretty neckline. I wore gold flats which complimented the gold bird necklace - a graduation gift from my grandmother.
ETA: Ok, I realized that Mae and Queenie already posted replies. I am happy to oblige!
4) This used to be my favorite skirt last summer. I realize that I am drawn to more simple and sophisticated silhouettes lately, so I find myself reaching less and less for my A-line skirts. However, I've been feeling a bit bloated for the last couple of days (yes, eating out for 5 days straight will do that to you!) so I tried my purple print dress with a black shirt to increase the sophistication factor. I also like my hair in this picture.:)
5) I was going to wear this ouftit this morning but changed my mind at the last minute. I purchased this dress at the end of winter and it has served me well in the spring and on colder days of summer. It is a heavy chambray fabric and is also lined. So while I know that I will wear it again in the fall, it was a little too warm for it today. The best part is, it is a pretty blank canvas, that can be accesorized in a million different ways. The yellow accessories is a bit too matchy for my taste but I actually like them here.
6) So instead, this is what I am wearing. I know that I posted pictures of this skirt before and it has gotten a lukewarm response. I still cannot tell you how much I like this skirt. It makes me feel like a princess. So there you go, a bonus picture of my princess skirt.
This was really long!:) Thanks for looking and congratulations if you've made it this far.
