I've started German Language course 4 mornings a week and apart from speeding up the learning and spending time with the adults, I actually get to do my old favourite thing in the world - I plan my weekly outfits.

Btw, when I told my son I'll be taking language classes just like he had them in the kindergarten last year, he said "Will you also be doing colouring?"

Back to WIW. This week all my school outfits were based on black pieces. I love clean, sharp lines of black, as simple as that.

  • Day 1: black ponte skirt, navy turtleneck, navy cardigan, polkadot hose. I could not wait to wear navy and black again.
  • Day 2: familiar new favourite, the tunic, layered over shortsleeved striped turtleneck and longsleeved black sweater. Worn with the skinnies.
  • Day 3: I had an appointment with my son's teacher at his school following my language course, so I kept it very conservative. Black jacket with white button-down and dark bootcuts. I added navy-white scarf for warmth and more interest. I cannot get enough of navy + black.
  • Day 3 afternoon: school run time. Inspired by Una to try navy+grey. While this outfit is nothing special bordering boring, and IRL it was under the jacket unseen by anyone, it made me feel fab - there is something super-fun and chic in pairing unlikely (to my eye) neutrals and I will explore this a bit further. Posing and sneezing, in case youre wondering what's going on here.
  • Day 4: this black skirt is an old, old favourite. Black sweater, white button-down, textured black hose, booties.

I don't do much colouring at school (or any) and there is obvious lack of colour in my outfits, but I felt great.

Thanks for looking. Over to you, comments and suggestions are most welcome.
