As you've seen from Jane's post, we got together yesterday for another meet up. We had planned to meet in September and then I found out about a big sewists meet in Birmingham and Jane joined me for it. 'Sew Brum' went on all day and many ladies (some of whom I'd connected with on Instagram) were there. We met at the Edwardian Tearooms in Birmingham Art Galllery/Museum(pic #1) and then went fabric shopping.

Jane helped me pick out two lovely wool fabrics for Winter skirts. One is a rich toned plaid which I happily discovered with Jane's help would go with tops that I planned to sew and quite a few items already in my wardrobe. The other fabric is a herringbone tweed which looked lovely with my blush leather jacket that I wore yesterday and will also be pretty versatile. I also bought bias binding makers and an ergonomic thimble.

In the afternoon Jane and I had a nice lunch and then joined everyone at another lovely fabric shop just outside the city centre and shopped there too. There was also a charity raffle with several prizes and I won a tunic kit comprising fabric, pattern and thread. Apparently £475 was raised for the Eve appeal (for ovarian cancer).

Thanks for the enjoyable day Jane!

PS..there's a pic of both of us on Jane's thread.
