WIW: A Woman Outstanding In Her Field

Tee hee...sorry...couldn't resist the play on words... My hubby volunteered to take my photo today for a WIW post because he loves the colour red and gave my purse "two thumbs up" - he's such a sweetheart, especially given what he's going through with his Dad...love that guy!

This skirt is my first attempt at a pencil-type midi - it's also quite high waisted. I'm not sure the dark tights work - suggestions anyone?

Love this look on you! My gracious.

It is difficult to see the shoes/proportions because of the grasses but from what I can tell the tights work. And I'll bet that high waist also lengthens the leg line.

Your post made me laugh. That was a popular joke at my last job - "where are you?" "Out standing in my field". I worked with a lot of property owners and the joke just never got old. Anyway...I love the red jacket and the purse looks great with the outfit.

Shannon, what a gorgeous photo. I love how the muted background of the field really lets the red color pop, and the contrast between the polished outfit and the natural surrounding is breathtaking.
I also really adore your structured bag and that cute jacket. What a great combination with your midi skirt!

Since I missed your earlier post, may I also pass along my thoughts and sympathies for you, your husband, and the family as you are supporting his father through the end of his life? That is such a rough time, but it can also be healing in a way.

I actually have wonderful memories of the end of my grandma's life, in spite of how terribly sad we were, because we were able to bring nearly the entire extended family together to spend time with her during her last month, and we also all came together to be there with her during her final days in the hospital. Knowing that we were able to do something really meaningful for her even at the end really helped me through my grief, even though I missed her terribly, and always will.
