My apologies for posting late with this challenge.

When Ornella suggested a week of jackets, I thought it would be easy for me, because I love my (few) jackets, and wear one of them almost every day. But it turned out to be more difficult than I had been expecting to make new and weather appropriate outfits with some of them.

I work from home, so my outfits are mostly casual.

Day 1, Monday: Worn for errands and to attend a poetry reading. My consignment jacket, skinnies, cognac boots, taupe top, striped knit scarf. I wore the jacket again at the YLF meet up on Saturday. And to tell the truth, if the challenge had not forced me to pick other jackets the rest of the week, I might have worn it every single day! I LOVE this jacket. LOVE. It is so comfortable, warm yet light, it breathes (it is almost all wool, with just a bit of nylon) and it is far better looking (IMO) than it seems in my photos. The pics from our Toronto get together are better quality and so you will get some better views of it in that post.

Day 2, Tuesday: Worn for a research trip to the library and then for a walk with my husband later in the day. The raspberry red jacket is very cropped, hitting my high waist. I find it more difficult to style than all my others; to my eye it looks best with a flared or fuller skirt, so here I paired it with an older black and white polka dot jersey wrap dress. I have a white T layered underneath. With the red plaid scarf, I went for a sort of cowgirl vibe; wanted to wear the cognac boots with this but in the end, the slimmer ankle of this style won out. These are the cousins of the Franco Sarto boots that Angie has recommended; they have a square toe and heel and are very comfortable. http://youlookfab.com/store/20.....etch-boot/

Day 3, Wednesday: Worn to meet two old friends whom I had not seen for many years.

The first pic is what I did NOT wear. The weather was crazy warm so I was really tempted to do "spring into fall" and additionally, to incorporate yellow into my wardrobe, with my yellow shoes, phlox button down, the navy military detailed jacket, and jeans, along with the yellow dominated paisley silk scarf. But my husband thought it looked pretty awful. I think he was right. How to improve?

I had to wear the navy jacket (due to my limited wardrobe) and was a bit stuck for ideas; the result was an off-white T, silky infinity scarf in grey blue and gold, jeans tucked into the cognac boots. I tucked and belted the T. Why? Because the jeans do not stay up if I don't belt them. Do the proportions work? I don't know. This jacket's front hits my hip; the back is a bit shorter. It, too, is very comfortable, and I wore it a TON in the spring and early summer, but haven't been using it as much lately.

Day 4: Worn to get my hair cut. Gap Really Skinnies, black sweater, ON collarless denim jacket, fitted, animal print scarf. This scarf needs to have its fringe removed. The collarless jacket isn't so easy to wear; scarves solve the problem to a large extent, but I am less thrilled with this than with my more traditional denim jacket. However, it is a bit longer which means it works a bit better with trousers. I think.

I don't seem to have a photo of Day 5, Friday, probably because we were in a rush to leave the house that morning. I wore a version of Day 4 with a different top and my lighter, collared denim jacket.

Please excuse the uptight poses. We were quite rushed this past week.
