WIW: A Simpler Outfit - YouLookFab Forum

I mentioned yesterday that I would like to start simplifying my outfits and accessorize more. I also mentioned I wanted to wear scarves more often, and also wear white tops (which I didn't do earlier).

Here is my at-home look.

The jeans are super comfortable. The top is thick cotton and linen mix and breathes well. The scarf is also soft soft cotton and doesn't make me uncomfortable in this weather. I took off the scarf while I fixed a quick lunch, but I like the outfit even without the scarf. It's simple but nice. This is an infinity scarf in a pretty floral design so easy to wear and remove. I've tied my hair up as hair plus scarf at the back of my neck would start to feel warm. This is a cleaner look.

I did not tuck or bother with a belt. The outfit is totally fuss-free for my day. And I seriously wouldn't change a thing when I step down to buy groceries in a while. I'll just use a large blue tote to complete the look. This is exactly the kind of simple outfits I want to wear everyday.

You can't beat a simple tee and jeans, Manny. I'm wearing the same today What makes your outfit rise above the ordinary is the lovely quality fabric of your tee and the fit is good too. The scarf is a pretty touch, so is your hair up. All the polished details contribute to your look. Nice choice of sandals too.

I like your white sandals to bookend the white tee. The scarf is a nice touch but not absolutely necessary.

Love simplicity! I have been feeling similarly only I can't wear anything on my neck during the hot summer. I have been wearing dangling earrings on occasion--about the only jewelry I can tolerate. I think your shoes add interest here too. I would opt for a belt but only because I can't wear the scarf. You look fab!

Cute! I prefer the scarf version since it dresses the tee up just a bit, but I do quite like the cleanness of the lines without it (I've been leaving more and more tops untucked these days, too). I find plain tees a bit difficult to wear on their own (especially white ones, go fig), so I usually opt for printed tees or those with an interesting color. That all said, the heaviness and nice fabric content of this tee works nicely on its own for a casual look. Love seeing you in those cheerful white sandals ^^

Thank you all for your kind words. I am feeling pretty good after reading all your comments!! White tshirt and blue jeans is the quintessential casual outfit that I could never imagine wearing....yet I did, and I felt good!

For someone who struggled to feel good in casuals, I think I'm finally finding my way. The gentle push and nudge I got here on YLF to keep me on the right track really helped me, and I cannot thank you all enough for that.

The outfit is quite stylish and comfortable. Blue jeans and white top with scarf make a perfect combination. I am planning to wear this type of outfit at Addison of Boca Raton, it looks cool and moreover it is very simple and presentable.

Keeping it real! Nothing wrong with this. Comfy is important when working from home. The sandals really tie it together.
