ETA: This is not Marc Jacobs, it's Michael Kors. So there you go, I'm a designer name moron.

This Marc Jacobs jacket is the only thing I kept from NAS besides the Zella jacket. It fits in well with my epiphany! Worn with my smallest size BF jeans and a studded belt. It's raining, so you'll be seeing these Danskos a lot! Second pic just for fun because it came out funky.

Well there you go disproving your own concern - I would not think a Marc Jacobs jacket would work on a Helmut Lang woman but there you go and you look fantastic!

This might sound very odd to you Una because you identify so strongly with UWP and I don't. But you and I have more similar style preferences than you might think. We both LOVE clean lines, minimal looks, MODERN stuff, tomboy/menswear vibes, strong colour, strong neutrals, high contrast, punk, denim and trousers.

Goodness, Angie, WHAT a compliment! I am floored and flattered, and you've also shifted a paradigm for me by putting what you see of my style into words.

I think what I'm struggling with as a UWP is the P(rincess) part. Though I coined the phrase sort of tongue-in-cheek, and it fits my mentality, I have the hardest time with the feminine aspect of UWP as a style rubric. I think Rae, with her ability to wear fitted dresses and skirts, has it down much better. It may also be that I find it much harder to wear skirts in summer when my rugged boots are less able to play. If only the Frye Julias had worked out!

Shevia, it is funny that I'm wearing Marc Jacobs, but this piece still feels a little Helmut Lang/Allsaints to me - no frills or ruffles in sight!

You look fab! I agree about the overlap between your and Angie's style. Call me crazy and nitpicky, but isn't that the MICHAEL Michael Kors jacket from NAS, rather than Marc Jacobs :)? I remember you linking to it when you first got it, because I was considering it for myself....

Marc still has it. Absolutely fabulous.

Funny about Marc Jacobs. I'm pretty convinced he's jumped the shark. Yet nonetheless, he's my go-to-guy. When you walk into a store, he's got buy-able things on the racks. The difference between runway and rack is tremendous.

Believe me, you don't have to suggest it - I know I am a moron when it comes to designer names. For instance, I mix up Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang all the time due to the similarity in name - nothing to do with the style at all.
