I was rather melancholy today due to the most recent turn of events. Oddly, none of them affected me directly. I guess you can just say, I feel for those people in my life in more depth than I thought I did. But yes, that sums up today.
Thanks to YLF for lifting my spirits, though
So last night, I decided to sort of do an unofficial ("ghetto?") version of Project333 (http://theproject333.com). I decided not to follow their rules to the tee (i allow myself unlimited shoes and accessories) and limited the 33 items to everyday clothing and outerwear only. I've also done extensive research on capsule wardrobes for quite sometime but always thought that I'm too undisciplined or uncreative for the process.
Time to prove me wrong.. Or right.
I based much of my capsule-building concepts on Into-mind (http://into-mind.com) so I had to make decisions on silhouettes and colour schemes. I chose Cobalt as a dominant colour (I always chose purple in the past) and my usual black and white as my neutrals. I'll be adding red, yellow and magenta as accents.
I pared down my wardrobe to 16 items and boxed up the rest for the next season and for donation. I'm due to purchase 17 more items gradually, and replace some of the 16 items I have when it will FINALLY warm up here in Toronto. I'm shopping around though forcing myself not to buy on impulse, and only buy items of higher quality and congruency to my (transitional) style.
Here's my first outfit:
Jacket: Ann Taylor
Top: INC
jeans: American Eagle Artist jeans
Shoes: Yokono
