Hi Annagybe! this outfit gives me that "ahhh" feeling I get when I see a unified concept. What I especially like about it is the way you have combined the two colours, black and taupe. That taupe "pulls out" the colour of your eyes (even at this scale in the photo) and it really lifts the black; it is a nice neutral intermediary between the lighter shade of your hair and skin, and the otherwise heavy black.
I think the shorts are very pretty; but I would wear them with sheer (or heavier) black/dark taupe stockings under the socks. The reason for this suggestion is that the eye is drawn to the lightest block of colour in the look, which is your bare upper legs (do the blink test). Adding hose would put the spotlight back on the shorts (which in my view are the star of the outfit) - and your face! which would then be the lightest/brightest part. (BTW, if you want to vary the look, any top you have with a slightly lower/wider neckline would look extra flattering on your figure when worn with a highneck jacket like this one.)
