WIW 7/22: Debuting the new polka-dot Costco cardi

The weather has cooled off a little here so I am busting out my new $12.99 cardigan from Costco. It's soft and lightweight and just right for a coolish summer day with frigid a/c in the office!

Gray/black polka-dot cardigan: Costco
Yellow pencil skirt: Halogen
Black tee: Marshall's
Gray pumps: Madden Girl
Gray multi scarf: Target
Gray "croc" tote: Talbots via eBay

This cotton scarf is an old favorite that is still going strong. In fact, I love it so much I bought it twice! I took it on vacation to Southeast Asia last winter, then when I got home I couldn't find it and re-purchased an identical one. Then months later I discovered I'd packed the original one by stuffing it in the crown of my straw hat and didn't notice it when I unpacked! LOL

What do you think? Do I look too wintery for a summer day? Any other comments or critiques?

Deb, the polka dots aren't textured -- in fact, now that I look carefully I can see they're printed onto the fabric (because the reverse side is plain gray). The buttons are plain, shiny black to match the dots, which I think is a fun touch!

The yellow skirt makes it non winter for me. Fun polka dots. I picked up two dot items during NAS so far myself.

I really like the mustard and grey color combination and the pattern mix with the scarf and polka dot cardi is fabulous. Like Suz, I think the color of the skirt plus the bare legs keeps the outfit nice and summery.

That cardi was a great find and I can see you wearing it often.

Mary K, I admit to zealously following you because I admire your style sense, which seems to parallel mine, although you are much more adventuresome in your use of color. I noticed some time ago that scarf, which I also own and I felt a teensy bit of pride for having a style sister. And this June I had the good fortune of spending 24 hours in Seattle before we departed for a trip to Alaska. I visited the Nordstrom flagship store, and found on a lonely sale rack, that very same yellow Halogen skirt, and it was in my size! Rejoicing. Today's look is another winner. Thanks.

Too wintry? You live in SoCal. They play by different rules, particularly when it comes to "wintry." I think you look terrific, and I contemplated joining Costco just to find those cardis, but then I imagined my 1,000sq ft house lined with boxes of Costco toilet paper, and canned tomatoes, and..........

I'll enjoy the cardis on you! The yellow skirt has proved to me a real workhorse for you!
