This is actually the 2nd time this spring/summer i've done this but i didn't have time to take a picture the first time.

Going to my brother-in-laws college grad party today. I look forward to being outside in the sun and eating delicious things all day.

Black printed sheer top - Goodwill
Black cami - Kohls
Dark denim high waist shorts - Goodwill (fun fact: these are marked as a size 11 @_@)
Red braided belt: H&M
Black socks: Target
Dark brown platform sandals: Target
Brown & black boater hat: ebay
Red wayfarers: Target

I love the elements of this and the styling, but to be honest, I can't help thinking that shorts a wee bit longer and looser would really seal the deal :). Obviously I'm in the minority with my dislike of short shorts, but there you go!

You are totally rockin' the socks with sandals look! I just cannot seem to pull this off. I'm with Jonesy, short shorts are just not doing it for me. Rest of the outfit is cute!

I live in the southwest where temperatures in the 90's are the norm all summer and everyone wears short shorts. I think you look great! I like the socks and sandals look although I don't think I'm brave enough to try it on my own.

You have my admiration for pulling this look together, it is fab in my book. Wish I could do the socks + sandals, my feet are nearly always cold. As for the short shorts I think they look good in this length because of the color contrast. If the had ended mid-thigh, then the visible portion of leg would have seemed much shorter. With a pair of beige or off white shorts a slightly longer length would have worked equally well ( am I right, Angie ?? )

My thoughts are the same as Anna's. If i wore longer shorts then i would not have put the socks with the sandals as i wouldn't feel comfortable making my leg line look that short. The top is pretty billowy thus i tucked it in to tighter shorts with a 3" inseam....

But I know my style isn't always "safe" and i always say any kind of feedback is welcome and it totally is!

I really like it - especially the red accessories. I think the short shorts do help the socks, as you mentioned. As long as nothing is hanging out the back, I always say, "Go, Team Short Shorts!"

Girl X - hahaha love it. I mentioned on here before that growing up, someone said i looked like a cabbage patch kid so i guess this is the next step up lol.

Angie - I haven't forgotten the challenge and i have found a pair of looser short-shorts. I just gotta bust them out.
