Really like the striped tee on you and the boots are fabulous, imo. I think that was a wise-buy, actually, especially given that your size is sold out everywhere.
In the meantime, re: hairdresser - um, I left my last hair salon because they messed up a few of my appointments - ie. phoned me the day before at 3pm to tell me that my appt. for the next morning at 10:00 a.m. needed to be changed/re-booked. This is the front desk making mistakes with their scheduling, or booking me for appts. on days when my stylist wasn't actually working etc. Although I liked the hairstylist for the most part, I ended up leaving because of these last minute inconveniences. Didn't tell them either - just didn't book any more appts. with them. I think part of the reason I did this is because it was an expensive salon and I didn't really feel like the service at the front desk matched the price of the haircuts.
As others have said, I'd also take a recommendation from someone I know over a recommendation from someone leaving a salon.
Anyway, after I left the hair place I was going to for the last year, I took a chance and went to another place - got a *horrible* haircut. Not happy, but have since found a much better place - it's even better than the original salon.
I know what you mean about bang trims - it's one of those things where you're just squeezed in, but someone should at least say, "So and so will be right with you, would you like a coffee?" or what have you. I'd try the place Jenava recommends...a cut/trim first and see what you think of their colour work on other clients before trying new colour at a new salon.
