Hi,

Here is what I wore for the end of the week. Each day I tried to do a combo I would not have thought of before reading YLF.

Wednesday-Pattern Mixing
Both the cardi and the t-shirt are very dark navy.

Necklace-Says Hawaii on it, with a turtle and the years (1959-2009) Hawaii has been a state in the US, which is also the year I went (2009)

Thursday-Wearing a Jacket instead of a Cardigan
I wear jackets, but have never worn one over a dress. I swapped out the silver wedges for silver heels, and had everyone asking if I was going out after work.

I was trying to dress up a t-shirt without a scarf (it's 85F today) and I love the look of layered necklaces. The longer pendant has been in my box for ages, never worn.

Taylor-Thanks! Yes, I am on an earring kick. I think it's because I have long hair but wear it up all summer, so you actually see my ears right now.

Sveta-Yes, I encourage you to try some pattern mixing, it's fun! Maybe you can try a jacket with that black dress you've posted recently (the one with the cardi).

Wonderful pattern mixing! So good and I never would have thought of that. It looks great.

I also like the necklace layering. I 've not tried that yet. You did a great job with it.

I like all three, Lisa! Of course, I love the pattern mixing. I like how the cardi really steps up an otherwise very casual outfit.
The dress is awesome--you look great in dresses. Do you find them comfortable? If so, you should wear more of them!
And I like the way you layered the Ts and have gold metallic in your shoes and in your accessories. It's amazing how just a little extra thought takes a T and jeans to the next level, isn't it?

Jenny-Definitely try necklace layering, it took me a while to figure it out but I think the keys are 1-similar style in chains and 2-similar style in type (ie both of these were pendant necklaces)

Angie-Thanks! I am slowly becoming a frock gal, which is funny because there were many years when I didn't even OWN a frock!

St4rrgrrl-Yes I do find dresses comfortable. I'm on the hunt for a few more, I feel very pulled together with minimal fuss when I wear one. Another yes for accessorizing, it really does make all the difference in an outfit, it's icing for sure.

So I'm all over pattern mixing at the moment and I thought this was funny. The sales clerk at Marshalls today had a pink pattern mix outfit. Pink cardi with white lines and a pink dotted shirt underneath. I wanted to take a picture with my phone, but didn't know a polite way to do so.

All of the outfits look good, but the first is really great. The pattern mixing looks very natural and incorporates the comfy shoes so well that they look like a really sharp part of the outfit. This is something I am still figuring out how to do myself, so thanks for the example.
