WIW 3/9: Weekly outfit plan, day 3

The forecast is for the high 70s today, so I'm doing bare legs and a springy top and skirt, but it's still early enough in the season that I feel better in a winter-toned cardi than a spring jacket.

Pink/yellow/tan watercolor print sleeveless top: AT Loft
Plum cardi: Gap
Tan wide belt: Swap
Light tan pencil skirt: Halogen
Deep purple patent pumps: Jessica Simpson
Armful of gold bracelets: Angl
Drop gold earrings with smoky topaz: Costco
Fuchsia suede crossbody bag: Coach via swap

Oh Mary, I always have wet hair in my pics - don't worry. I love the little peek of the top showing and playing off the purse color! This is my fave of the week so far.

Day in and day out you put together fantastic, perfect outfits in every color combination. Mary, you really have a wonderful talent. I would love to copy this one, but I am missing most of the ingredients.

Now about those bracelets--they look wonderful--but aren't they distracting at work?

Wow, thank you! That's so kind! I never thought of the word "talent" in this context, and it's making me feel all warm and glowy!!

As for the bracelets: Uh, yeah, they kinda are. LOL Especially when I wore them on Monday with the red jacket and it turned out I couldn't get the jacket on and off without removing them! Note to self: Don't wear the armful of bracelets with a blazer.

But today is a no-meetings day and the cardi isn't a problem, so I thought I'd give it another go. So far, so good!

You look so nice, Mary. You have a real ability to find cardis that fit you well and that look great belted. I have utterly failed at this - any secrets? As a petite person, short cardis always seem to be a bit narrow and long for me (even when they're not meant to be). But I know that you're petite, too, and you seem to make them work.

Sarah, this cardi was recommended by Angie for petites and was the first thing I bought from a YLF recommendation. It's here: http://www.gap.com/browse/prod.....=831656002 and it's marked down a little right now. The one I'm wearing in the photo is a petite medium, even though I've lost weight since I bought it and would buy a small if I were to buy any new ones. I have it in coral and black in addition to plum, and I just love it!

It is so evident how much fun you have with your clothes. And I'm glad weekly planning works a treat for you, it really makes that morning coffee at home smell and taste better, doesn't it?

What I found about weekly planning is that I may not necessarily got for what I originally planned, but there is no that mental pressure when I wake up about deciding what to wear, it's one thing less to have to think about. And somehow, that leaves me personally more room for coming up with outfits that have nothing to do with what was prepared in advance.

Ornella, you're so right! When my son was growing up I would do meal planning religiously, and I found what you found about the outfits -- I might not always have cooked what was on the plan, but at least I HAD a plan and I wasn't up against the wall to come up with something for dinner when I got home after a long day at work.

LOL, Joy! For good or ill, the skirt is apparently long gone. In fact, this top was the last one in my size on the sale rack in the store, and they have neither the top nor the skirt online. And I did pick up a watercolor print sheath dress at ATL, so I think I'm covered!
