WIW 3/10: Weekly Outfit Plan, Day 4 WITH LUNCHTIME EMERGENCY TWEAKS

I don't think this is a home run, but it's fun because the suit and blouse were picked up at the Salvation Army thrift store over the weekend for a total of less than $7.00. It'll be nice for the 80-plus-degree weather that's forecast for today!

This whole outfit is a result of bargain-hunting! The shoes are Target, the pendant was bought on sale for $3.97, and the bag is expensive but was bought used on eBay for 1/3 the original price. Gotta love it!

Gray skirt suit with black front zipper: Smooches via thrift
Black sleeveless top with gray and tan floral print: Ssada via thrift
Black sandal booties: Target
Giant pearl pendant: Asos
Black leather tote with chain detail on straps: Coach via eBay

Edited to tuck the shirt and add the belt. I had to meet a contractor at the house at lunchtime and thought what the heck? I think it's better. What do you think?

I'm taking notes as that suit looks the same color as the "drift" color Halogen skirt in my closet. My eyes go directly to your shoes looking at this outfit.

Those shoes are fantastic. I would break my neck attempting to walk in them so I will live vicariously through you. The suit is nice but I think it might be more fun if you split up the pieces for future outfits...do you think?

I want to like that floral top but I'm not feeling it with this suit, but I don't know why. Maybe the material of the top? The colors? Something about it seems not up to par with your high quality self. : )

I'm wondering whether I might want to consider tucking. Or a belt...

LOL, hbaber, that label cracked me up, too! I think this is a junior line because the size is "11." (Reminds me of "This is Spinal Tap" -- "This one goes to eleven...")

I like it tucked without the jacket, but untucked WITH the jacket. What happens if you wear a different blazer, one that's more cropped and fitted (and in cream)? 0:)

Love the shoes. A little unsure of the fit of the jacket. I guess I'm used to seeing you in more fitted things. Prefer blouse tucked with belt.

The shoes are KILLING me.

Don't you kill me, but - *cringing obsequiously* - I think what's throwing me off with the outfit is the zipper on the suit. I think we told Secondhand Shopaholic that those zip jackets look a bit dated... You look put-together, but something about this outfit is just not as up-to-date as you usually are. Maybe a different jacket or a cardi? The belt definitely helps too.

I was at my heaviest when zip-front jackets first came in, so I missed them and was all excited to find one that fit! LOL But maybe I just, you know, missed them.

In any event, even if I never wear any of these pieces (skirt, jacket, top) again, a total of $7.00 for one wearing isn't that bad.

I was sort of feeling the same thing that Una mentioned re. the jacket :). But I love the top, skirt, and sandals!! I wonder how the jacket would look with some skinny black jeans, unzipped, with the sleeves scrunched up? It might look bad, but maybe not...

I do like it better with the belt- good call.
I didn't get to wear my planned outfit for today- it was just too warm. (I know- we should all have this problem!)

Looks great! Nice finds! I'd like to see the skirt taken in just a smidge, is it a little big? I'm kind of with AJ on the floral, maybe you could try a bright solid for a mod look? I think it would make the zipper look more intentional too.

I like it better after the midday tweak. I am known to tweak my outfits midway through the day as well. I am not a morning person and I guess my creative juices are not flowing that well in the morning.
