WIW 22 and 23 June, June Challenge and new kitchen

I am trying to wear existing pieces different ways.

My blush sweater, A line skirt, khaki parka and skinny jeans are four of those pieces.

Outfit 1 was an experiment, I don't usually wear ankle boots with longer skirts, and also trying volume over volume. I would repeat this look although it was a little cold on a cool day.

Today it is colder. My sister in law sent me this new scarf and I decided to let it be the star of the show with denim, khaki and black.

Photos taken in the almost finished part of the new kitchen.... Still lots to do though but we have working appliances and bench tops now.

I have decided the A line silhouette is a good one for me, and I have refallen in love with this old skirt. The jeans and khaki parka are just solid basic pieces. The blush sweater was a good addition although very sheer as you can see.

Wow, both of these are fantastic! I love the booties with the skirt. It looks so fresh! (The skirt is a very subtle A line. It almost looks like a tube skirt/pencil. Either way, it is a terrific style on you!) Adore the layering and silhouette of 2. You look effortlessly chic!

Both outfits look really good. I am surprised at how good the skirt looks with the ankle boots. Makes me think I should give this a try (it is usually a look I avoid because I have big feet!). The blush sweater is versatile, isn't it? Thanks for the tip because I did end up buying it in black. I look forward to receiving more styling ideas for it from you! PS kitchen looks great too.

I quite like the boots with the skirt, you should keep this in your rotation. And the hemline of the sweater is so nice. Glad your kitchen remodel is moving along. We are on the docket to start ours in August or September and not looking forward to it.

I like your stylings a lot! I think the skirt and ankle boots look great. It's amazing how ankle boots can change the look and feel of a skirt or dress outfit, isn't it?

You must be excited about how the kitchen is coming along. It looks bright and modern.

Thanks Kellygirl, Brooklyn, Pil and Windchime. I have worn black ankle boots with a skirt with opaque tights, and these camel boots with a short dress, but had not tried them with a longer skirt. The skirt is definitely A line but the angle here is deceiving. I thought a loose top and ankle boots could be unflattering but somehow it did work. It would be better on a slightly warmer day though!

Yes it is great to have all our appliances in and working now. Awaiting the builder to install our rangehood and put architraves back in place. Then I need to arrange a tiler, finish the painting and get the wallpaperer in (I am doing a very bold wall paper on two walls). It is lovely to have a big bench. I do feel fortunate - we had been putting this off for a few years, but eventually decided to bite the bullet and just get it done while our boys are the right age to appreciate it and still be at home. They are 10 and 13.

Both look fantastic. I personally love love love outfit #1. Love the blush sweater with that skirt, and the boots add just the right finishing touch.

#1 is stunning. Love this silhouette and I adore ankle boots with midi skirts. To my eye its a much edgier look than ankle boots and a short skirt. #2 looks great also. You have a fab shoe collection. Kitchen looks fab.

You look fabulous in both of these outfits. Fun scarf and what a nice gift -- and #1 is just sensational on you. Please repeat the ankle boots! The silhouette really does work for you. I think it's great on hourglasses.

Love your white kitchen! I just put a brand new kitchen in myself (I might've already told you this)--white, with medium oak floors, like yours! I'm still in "kitchen mode" and love to see what other ppl are doing.

Thanks Suz, Smittie, Maneera, Deborah and Lyn. This week I have so appreciated YLF; I never would have tried this combination without this June challenge.... That is where pics do help. I know some outfits are better in reality than in pics but the photos really assist with where lengths hit you on your body.

Once I have finished the kitchen I will post some pics off topic. Just hit a sipped bump yesterday over wall paper sadly so back to the drawing board!!!
