WIW 1/14: Navy, peach and brown and ? re pants length

I don't have a peach top, but I copied Angie's fab formula using my coral top and I am happy with how it turned out. The shoes may look seasonally confused, but it's been in the low-to-mid 80s here so I promise you it's fine!!

Navy cropped pants: Banana Republic
Coral silk shirt: Nexx
Navy tweed blazer: Banana Republic
Brown belt: Target
Brown gladiator sandals: Payless
Espresso tote: Elliott Lucca

Normally, at Angie's urging, I turn up the hem of these pants to make them a bit more cropped. But doing that with these shoes seemed to show a whole lot of skinny white ankle for no good reason (photo 2), and I think I like the pants better left longer (photo 1). What say you all?

Love the color combination Mary - you always put together such fantastic outfits based on inspiration. As for the pants length, I will leave that to others since I haven't got a hot clue!

FWIW, Queen Pedantic About Pant Lengths reporting for duty.

Personally, I prefer them shorter in #2 because the proportions look better to my eye. Peppy and Modern. Although #1 is fashionable at the moment - it's poison eye to me when the hem widths aren't very close to the skin or rolled like BF jeans.

If you are gong to show your ankle - SHOW your ankle. Or make it a tiny, tiny slither.

I think I prefer the shorter length. The white ankles don't show up in the pictures. This is another really cute outfit!

I like both lengths but I would go with the shorter length. You have such pretty ankles why not show them off! Showing some skin is always nice. I love the colours that you have put together. They look great with your hair and skin.

You look terrific in coral and navy! I cannot for the life of me figure out cropped pants length for myself and would totally defer to Angie. To my inexperienced eye, the hems actually look wider at the shorter length, so I am confused about the keeping cropped pants tapered guideline and would have chosen the longer length as more flattering, even though your ankles are perfectly lovely

I like the shorter because it looks more intentional. The longer length just looks like your pants are slightly short instead of intentionally cropped.

I think I'm with you Mary and prefer #1 but maybe that's just because it's what we're used to seeing everywhere?? I think #1 looks more business-y and #2 looks more casual. But either way you look fab.

OK, I am with Suz, I can't get passed the off-handed comment of "it's in the 80's". SIGH.

Now, I also prefer the shorter length. I love the outfit ! I completely Agree with Angie, if you are going to show ankles ( awesome shoes) , commit !!!!

Okay, Angie and others, you have convinced me to show my skinny white ankles proudly! LOL

And yeah, the weather is pretty ridiculously beautiful, even by our standards. Here's a photo I took yesterday on my way back to the office after lunch. And it was even prettier in person.

I like the longer length.. I have skinny ankles and this length is always a bit hard. But I find them very modern and wear them anyway. You look gorgeous in this outfit. I especially love your cool sandals.

Great outfit! I like those colors on you a lot! I had the same thought as AviaMariah--#1 looks more like business and #2 looks more casual. Interesting, huh? I do think #2 gives a slightly longer leg line.

Okay. We are moving to Santa Monica. I shan't depress you with a photo of cold, grey and wet Seattle.

MaryK, I meant to add what Ceit said. The shorter length looks intentional to my eye, while the longer length like you're a petite wearing cropped pants that are too long. A little longer though - and we are also in business. Proper ankle pants, if you know what I mean.

You have extremely pretty ankles. Milk it, sister. xo
