The weather turned colder than predicted so my new red coat got its first real outing! I love my coat I love my coat I LOVE my coat!!!!!

I love it so much that I bought it a pair of peacock blue gloves!!

The hat is more of a storm blue. But do they work okay together?

Remember those rules that you are not supposed to wear black with blue or black with brown? I broke both of them yesterday at the same time and nobody arrested me. You all might want to arrest me for wearing my Comrags jersey sheath dress yet AGAIN. But I tried to blouse it a bit for a change. Wearing with charcoal and black herringbone tights, brown woven belt, collarless denim jacket and silky infinity scarf.

This was a good outfit for hanging out at the art gallery and visiting with my friend.

Suz you are so beautiful I cannot stand it! The hat and gloves look perfect together and yay for the ceremonial first outing of the coat! I salute you for wearing a dress and looking so fab in the cold! We would never know it's the same dress because you continue to accessorize it so well (and differently each time)! I love the scarf and jacket combo. Scarves work well with the collarless jacket, n'est-ce pas?

Suz, you are so killer fab, it's out of this world. I knew I loved your coat when you first showed it, but now your coat's new purchase of the gloves with your adorable hat (Yes! The colors work) puts this in the elite section of KILLER. Then, underneath, with your dress and belt, you've just given me some styling ideas for a black wrap dress I seldom wear! Love, love, love all of it. In fact, you could have been arrested at the art gallery when you left, because a work of art was LEAVING the gallery!

Suz, you are bringing down the house with your fab cold-weather looks! I loooove black with brown, and while I had reservations about the blue gloves while reading, those reservations all flew out the window when I looked at the pics. I really like how you tied the tail of your belt, too - one of my favorite ways to belt.

Claire, you are so right about that jacket and scarves. In winter it pretty much demands them. But that's okay; I like wearing them. So the jacket and I are becoming friends. I like that it is a darker wash than my other one.

But you know, we saw the Chagall show, and don't you think the colours of the coat/gloves/hat evoke his work?

Helen, the dress was a gift from a friend who bought it for herself and never wore it! I shortened it and wear it all the time! I feel very fortunate that she offered it to me.

Denise, LOL at the cranberry/blueberry reference! I hadn't thought of it that way but you are so right! Well, up here in the frozen north we pretty much ARE little frozen berries for three or four months a year, so it works!

Good grief Suz - it's a good thing I was sitting down when I opened your post! First off, that coat is fantastic and coupled with the blue, the whole thing is out of this world! I don't know how you did it, but somehow the combination of the coat and hat/gloves makes it both modern and vintage looking at the same time. It's absolutely beautiful on you. That right there is what hanging out with you ladies is all about. I feel I was dressing perfectly fine in my life before, but what I'm getting from Angie's expertise and everyone else's ideas, photos and discussion, is the ability to have more days where I start to feel close to how you look in these pictures. I am also glad you brought the coat because with a leather jacket in the snow it might not have been fun.

Suz, Your coat is the best! And I love that you're wearing it with the unexpected contrast of blue hat and gloves! It works so perfectly together, but I, for one, would never have thought of it. I'd probably be wearing basic black. That's why i'm here- to pick up creative ideas that make getting dressed more fun!

I also think it's great how pleasing your new coat and hat are to YOU! It's a wonderful thing to wear clothes that make you feel good, isn't it?

I love the blue and brown combo that you wore under it, too!
