WIW 1/10: I got houndstooth on a rainy day

I bought this skirt and jacket during Shoptoberfest, and I recall some horrified squeals from my YLF sisters at the very thought of wearing them together. And yet... I am kind of digging it!

One thing that is super fun about this outfit is that almost all of it was purchased with the help of fellow YLFers! The suit is from Shoptoberfest and I bought the blouse and coat in NYC last winter with the help of Zapotee! SO FUN!!!

What do you think? Too many hounds' teeth, or fun and fab?

I prefer it with the suit jacket on, but then I am still new to all this pattern mixing. In my part of the country, it still hasn't caught on and people just look at you funny.

Pretty awesome outfit! I love 1 and 3--gorgeous squared! Pic 2 is also great; I guess I do go for less baring of the teeth, just a wee bit better. You pull it all off beautifully. For me, the belt really makes the outfit--it launches it into the "ah, yes!" category.

Total houndstooth happiness from me! I love houndstooth and IMO, you can never have too much of it. The blouse goes perfeclty and of course, I adore red, white and black together. You know Natalie and her love of matchy-matchy is going to go nuts over this, right?

Well this is a "lot of look" but I love it on you. I was kind of hankering for more red, and then I saw the coat in the last picture. Pattern mixing perfection.

I love how the belt toughens up a "ladies who lunch" type look. The red gives it so much energy. I also love the pattern mixing -- the pattern on your blouse is too cute. Love it!

Every time I decide that I'm not minimalist enough to be fashionable, you bust out a outfit like this in its complete, maximal glory and give me hope!

Its amazing, and very flattering, to boot. Love the red coat and the size of the houndstooth is bold and modern without being costumey.
