It's been a while, folks. I apologize for my absence as I've had to deal with a lot of stress in my life lately. I haven't been posting WIW's simply because I haven't been feeling fabulous. All the stress made me feel a lot less fab, and I gained a significant (enough to change a dress size) amount of weight because of it. I haven't also been feeling fab about my wardrobe due to my arthritis and my absolute need for comfort. I had to seriously rethink my fall wardrobe now.
Today, I went to my stylist, and he's been absolutely amazing. He is also a friend, so he listened as he magically de-grumped my look. Thanks to him, I have not felt this good in months!
This is how I've been dressing lately. Very loose top, skinny jeans, Fitflop sneakers (because my sandals now hurt). I'm not feeling 100% in it, but somehow the haircut gave it an edge.
A wise ultra stylish lady once recommended that updating one's hair is one of the earlier steps to updating one's personal style (eh, Angie? ;)) Boy is she right!
Which now brings me to a new wardrobe curveball: colour palettes. All my life, I've worn cool colours. I looked GREAT in black and jewel tones. But all the warm browns and now lower contrast features make me look a bit washed out in black. I'm betraying my "true winter" colour roots here, but I think it would be fun to try warmer colours.
I guess this means my wardrobe update should now consider:
- my foot issues (seeing podiatrist in Oct - long waitlist!)
- my dressy/casual romantic edge style persona
- new colour scheme
- no clothes pinch/bunch or press against my torso
- must accommodate weight loss (I'm working on losing weight)
Anyway... Sorry about the ramblings:
Top: young, fabulous and broke
Tank: Old Navy
Jeans: Joe's Jeans
