WIW - Saved the Old Cargos After All

I guess I have a love/hate relationship with cargo pants. These I loved when I first bought them several years ago. I like that they are slim fitted and very comfortable. But then I worried they were too RATE for me or something, or maybe too much going on with all the pockets. I tried a few other versions and just couldn't find anything I loved again.

I had put these in the "holding "zone. Finally, I decided to treat them very simply as slim pants and just wear a loose untucked linen blouse more like a tunic, and super soft slide on sandals. I feel satisfied with the result. The silver cuff felt like just the right amount of accessorizing. I think if I wear these with longer tops like this they will fill my desire for cargos without feeling like too much for me.

Nice! I think you've achieved your aim of glamming them up just enough, with the linen shirt and the accessories, that the juxtaposition works really well. And the proportions with the pant roll and the shoes with ankle straps is great.

Thanks Laura and kellygirl - I also want to try them with a black rayon drapey tank and strappy sandals. I think I mostly wore them before YLF so I didn't have a clue how to style them. Now I have more ideas to try.

Cargos can have a lot going on with pockets. Sometimes it's fun to pair it with an ethnic blouse or something wild. But I also love cargoes paired with simpler tops and shoes, and a piece of statement jewelry -- just like you've done here.

And I really like that you're treating them as slim pants -- I think these really are. They're understated, slim lines, and the color is really nice.

Nice save. I have a love/hate with cargoes right now, too. I purged 3 cargo skirts, 1 shorts, 1 jacket and 1 pant over the last year. Still have one skirt, one jacket, and one capri/shorts left. Plenty lol.

Mo - yes, I remember you purging some cargo stuff. I still have a utility style jacket that is similar to cargo but since it's navy blue it doesn't feel quite the same. These pants feel much better to my eye with some of the top of the pants covered for some reason. Fewer visible pockets I think.

Good save, those pants look great on you. I like this soft-strict styling with them, really nice. Pairing with anything soft will give you instant juxtaposition, really. Could also be fun with more glam counter parts (e.g. sequins or shine), as well as something boho skewed.
