I thought I remembered doing this last year too, so I had a look and I found my post from February 2014 and the outfits I had posted.

Thanks Crutcher. I have folders on my harddrive for each year and then I save the pictures in there and number them in the order I took them. I found that was the best way to keep an overview. It's super interesting to look back on past outfits. There is a lot of experimentation that makes me cringe just a little bit in hindsight.

What a transformation. I didn't even realize it was the same person. I had to go back and look at the title of your post and get my head around that these pictures were all you! You look great in both but the pixie is such a great statement. I hope you are loving it! And great looks. I love your style.

Thanks AM! The hair makes a big difference, I agree. And yes, I love the pixie! (I lost a lot of weight too, so I do look quite different.)

You look brilliant. Such a transformation! I love your collarless denim jacket - the sparkle on the cuffs is a surprising and cute detail.

From the older pics, that dress in #4 looks like it might still work for you. Do you still have it?

Thanks Approprio! That denim jacket was a great find, I bought it for maybe 20€ or so at a final sale. I love the sparkle on the hem/collar/cuffs - it provides some interest and the jacket is still wearable all the same. I'm usually not a fan of sparkle. My sister has that dress now and wears it to death. I'm a bit taller, but she isn't as shortwaisted as me and is better endowed so the dress fits her perfectly (it looked a bit sad on me before I passed it on).

Wow! I am so impressed by how organized everyone keeps their computer files! Is there a Marie Kondo book for this also?! I wonder if I will be able to go back in a year and do this type of comparison? I love how your hair looks now!

So interesting, Astrid. You look lovely in all these pictures, but your look has become sleeker and more minimalist lately. Of course your lovely pixie cut has brought about the biggest change. As with Ornella, a few tweaks here and there make all the difference.

Thanks Eva! I do like urban, but I felt as if I went too far in the other direction with some outfits. I think I have to take care not to forget the softer, feminine part of my style going forward.

That's a good point; I've found style shifts are sort of like a pendulum, first you're swinging for awhile, and then you end up centered in the middle. I think the detail on the jacket neckline & plaid skirt add some feminine touches, but definitely more of a sleek feminine than soft feminine. Before your hair sort of did that for you.

Eva, you're right, I've noticed that "pendulum effect" too. And yes the longer hair definitely contributed to that element. I think I shouldn't forget to keep a bit of playfulness going forward. I don't want to end up looking strict, even though I love simple and pared down.
