I was up early - need I say more...

I was looking at pics last night and trying to decide in advance what my options were for an outfit. I found two inspiration pics from Beth (added to pics) and identified a few tops with ruffles to wear with the burgundy skinny pants.

I decided on ink and black with the burgundy based on an ensemble Angie posted some time ago. I was going to wear animal print loafers but went with these dark pewter instead for pure comfort.

I don't think the shoes are quite right but without heels as an option and warm weather precluding booties, I wasn't sure what else to try. I rolled the pants and then unrolled them. I went with black/pewter accessories.

Thoughts or suggestions?

I really like this mix & match of bold colors... its almost a rocker chick kind of outfit - very sexy!
I like the pants unrolled and the necklace is such a nice addition!
Ooooh! The 1st pic from Beth reminds me of a similar top that I used to have years ago... think I might turn the house upside down to find this!!!

This looks great Cheryle! What about your higher heel black cage sandals you showed in a pic the other day? Those would work too and give you a different look on the foot.

Fab! I really like the dark column of colour...very flattering on you. I like Lisa's idea of the black cage heeled sandals....those will definitely amp up this look, though I do love these comfy loafers a lot too. Also, pointed toe flat shoes would look great too

Una, I am not sure about a style shift. I really think I have just had lots of time to think about outfits lately because I wake up so early. the only new items I have worn in the last few weeks are a white lacy sweater and the burgundy pants. I have to wonder if it is more because i have lost a few pounds and clothes feel better and fit better now.

I like matching a necklace to the pants color. It really pulls an outfit together. So maybe switch out the necklace for a burgundy one? Or a burgundy scarf (if you wear scarves)?

This is a great silhouette on you, and I love all of the pieces!

This outfit is super gorgeous. I really like the shoes and the palette, and the proportions, everything! The necklace is a nice addition, too--a bit of subdued sparkle that kind of echoes the luxe character of the pants.

The whole look is great, but especially the blouse has just enough ruffle but not too much. I'd like to SYC also for combining just the right amount of soft detail with some of my loafer outfits.

Unfrumped, I tried three or four ruffled tops before settling on this one. One has extreme ruffle and a few were just barely there ruffles. I may wear ruffles again today.

I think you nailed the look. I like the color combo you chose here. I also like the colors in the inspiration pics but understand those may not be your palette, etc. I love the look of ruffles, but I have to keep any I wear fairly discreet and small or IMO they begin to look clownish on me. You're lucky to be able to pull them off well.

In terms of shoes, I think a lower vamp flat might also work. I think the key might be to showcase a bit more skin at your ankle/foot if that makes sense.

Great look! I really like this outfit on you. The ruffle adds a nice feminine touch. I relate to the shoe dilemma but I think you nailed it.
