WIW - feeling like a Christmas Elf in March

I wore my new denim jacket the first time today! And although the jacket is emerald green and the culottes are more of a rust I couldn't help but feel a bit like a Christmas Elf. I really love this color combination, it's a pity that I associate red and green instantly with Christmas. Do you have the same problem with these colors?

I can see the Christmas combination now that you mention it, but I think the colors are far enough from the bright red and green that are normally associated with Christmas that the outfit looks good. I like the length of the jacket with the skirt.

I feel self-conscious wearing any two bright colors together, but that needs to change ASAP! I absolutely love that new green denim jacket on you Astrid. It fits you perfectly and the color is so rich and pretty!

Astrid, green was made for "gingers" like yourself. It really makes you shine! I remember my mother's friends wearing this combination a lot in the late 70s --- "rust" was huge then. Curiously, so was orange and emerald in combination.

Not seeing Christmas, just a gorgeous look. I love the richness of the culottes - are they velvet/corduroy? I agree with Beth Ann, these colours were made for you. I'm always jealous of people with shades of red hair as there are so many colours that come alive on them!

Thanks, Beth Ann! I never thought I had red hair, until I took all these pictures and got comments about it. I never wore much green in the past, but it's a color I just discovered and now I love it. Although I definitely look better in cooler greens, it's great that there are so many out there at the moment!

Thanks, Fruitful! The culottes are a cotton/polyester mix. They look a bit velvety in real life too, you're right.

I wouldn't think Christmas unless you mentioned it. You are adorable Astrid, with your gorgeous smile. I would call your style "Lady-Like Boho" and it is unique on this forum; love seeing your WIWs.

I didn't think Christmas until you mentioned it, because the colors are similar but not the standard brighter shades I associate with Christmas. I think you are safe.

I know what you mean, though. I've been debating wearing red sandals with a green-and-navy dress because of the Christmas factor.
