WIW - Denim on Denim Edit: Shoe Option

Never say never, right? I didn't think I'd ever wear denim on denim, but I think for me it comes down to the style of the denim just as much as the color. Case in point is this very light weight denim (chambray almost) military style jacket. For me, even with the slight military vibe, it feels more feminine and soft. My other denim jackets are true classic jean jacket style and seem a bit more stiff and masculine - which I've found hard to pull off with jeans.

I'm trying to do more WIW's so I can get a better feel for my wardrobe and set some style goals. I appreciate your feedback.

Military Shirt Jacket- Chicos
White Tee - Gap
Cropped Jeans - AE
Necklace - Hematite from Express
Belt- Calvin Klein (becoming a spring favorite for it's light color)
Shoes - Clarks (many years old but still favorites and hard to replace!)

Bonus Shot: Two very curious deer across the street at my neighbors who were sort of "herding" this turkey out of their feeding zone. Very entertaining.

Edit: Just curious if these sandals would be better with the cropped pants - and I rolled them once more too. What do you think? I'm really trying to figure out the shoe/proportion thing. I don't wear heels but these are a slight wedge and I have a couple others that are also wedge heels. The rest are sandals or flats.

I love those shoes! They are so neat!

I really like the jacket with those jeans. I think the blues look great with the white T, and the belt echoes the shoes in an excellent way.

Thanks Ceit! I actually added another shoe option because I'm trying to sort out what type of shoes I want to wear with various pants and lengths. I need to add to my shoe wardrobe but feel like I should figure it out a bit more first.

I like those second shoes with it too -- they show off your ankles and foot, I like it with the cropped leg.

Tex, I think your denim on denim look is great. I'm trying to get the roll up length correct on jeans too. Why is it that it always looks great on others ( including you) but I never feel 100% confident about the length on me!

WOW! I think you did a great job with both styles of shoes. You have a much more athletic/rugged style than mine, but you do it so well that I suddenly find myself wanting to go out and buy a few pairs of Keens. The magic of someone who has her style down cold! I think what makes the higher roll work so well with the more delicate sandal is that it shows off your beautiful ankles.

What a nice jacket, Texstyle, super denim on denim look. Both pair of shoes totally work, though I have a slight preference for the sandals with this. I think because of the softness of the jacket. And, as K noted, your enviable slender ankles.

Seems like I'll have to pay more attention to shoes with a little heel like the sandals to wear with the cropped look. I always gravitate towards flats for comfort. I also feel like I need more toppers with structure but it's a constant battle of machine washable vs. structure it seems.

Yay, for denim on denim success! I have a preference for the sandals with this, and totally GWYM about gravitating towards comfy flats, that's my preference too. I just got a backorder for these

Great denim on denim look! I prefer the sandals to shoes as they bookend your hair nicely. the belt is such a fab item for spring. I am also enjoying my white belt a lot this spring.

I like the proportions with the sandals - I think it's because the sandals are nude and thus leg lengthening. Cute outfit! And great pic of the deer ; )

CocoLion, Thank you for the nice compliment. I've never thought of my legs as being long. In the photo they do appear longer than I think I see them. Maybe it's the "skinny" mirror effect. lol.
