WIW - Black, White and ?

I started out with the new Harlowe and Graham Graphic Print Swing Coat in pic #1 but I am not happy with it. I really want to like it but I think it is going back. I ended up wearing my Vince Camuto blazer, instead. Oh well.

Your smile in picture 2 says it all, Deb. I do like the graphic vibe and silhouette of the swing coat on you, but if you are not feeling it, then it's better to make room in your closet for a piece you really do absolutely love. I think we are blazer twins, and I love how you are wearing it here (taking notes:-)

Thanks, Inge and Caro. I have not totally decided. I am still not feeling well and that may have influenced my judgment. I will try to style it with something else.

Oh I really like it on you. Try it with some jeans or dark trousers perhaps. It is so fun and elegant at the same time.

I could see that coat work with black slim pants and a black simple top. I think you have too many broken lines there.

I do live the graphic coat and the black and white outfit a lot! Perhaps a pop of color with a bright scarf would make this outfit sing to you. If not, let the coat go and make room in your closet and budget for a piece you do love.

I looked at your pictures before reading what you wrote and I loved the graphic coat! I'm so sorry you're returning it. But if you're not feeling it... maybe you should try it on tomorrow to make sure! I love the blue with the black and white though. I've been trying to think of a color to pair with B&W that's not the same ol' same ol' and you've inspired me!

Another conment to say the new coat is super cool and looks great. Perhaps sleep on it... The blue blazer is great with the black and white as well

i love the coat, but i think the length is fighting with the height of the boots. have you tried the same outfit, but with flats instead?
i do like the 2nd outfit, it has an equestrian feel.

Hate to second guess your decision but I do like that graphic coat. Feels like a breath of spring air...I would nix the colour contrast between boots and pants. The blue blazer is a winner.

Another vote to keep the B&W coat!

What is it about it that you aren't feeling? Is it the cut, or how it's styled? I am thinking it may be a styling issue. I'd love to try the coat with black or dark wash skinny jeans and the dark boots -- to create a long, lean line underneath. I'm wondering if you prefer that outfit with the turquoise blazer simply because the turquoise draws the eye up? And away from the abrupt contrast created by white skinnies with tall black boots? Can you see it?

B&W does seem to need a pop of bright somewhere ... do you have a turquoise top to pop underneath? Turquoise top, B&W coat, black pants, black boots?

Have you tried that coat over a simple black sheath dress? Or dress in a bright color?

I love the Marni-esque coat too. Have a little fun playing around in your closet with it first before returning it. Make sure it's really not for you.

Well, I love the B&W jacket but I'm not the one who has to wear it. Maybe if you hold on to it a bit and try to style it differently....it seems like it would be a great transition piece between seasons.

Another vote to play around with styling that awesome black and white jacket before you return it. I had some jacket envy when you posted earlier that you were going to order it, so I really want it to work out for you. But of course YOU have to feel good in it.
