Waiting for spring

Good morning YLF. I spent part of last night trying to figure out other ways to style this skirt. I'm not unhappy with this result and there is nothing wrong with it. I'm just done with the sloppy cold weather and the heavy color palettes of winter. I was under the weather for most of the weekend (so was DH) and that might have contributed to my lack of creativity with today's color palette. Styling suggestions are appreciated.

I like the color palette. I am wondering if you tucked the blouse in more it may be more congruent in terms of line/sihouette?

You look so fantastic as usual. Can I just crawl around your wardrobe and hopefully steal away with some jackets? The red is quite cheery! I don't see anything wrong with these colors, but I guess when you live in the mid-west you're tired of greys and black.

You look sensational. I love the way the sparkles in the jacket echo the necklace (or vice versa) and add a bit of light to the picture.

But I completely understand. I am feeling the same sense of frustration. I still need my warm clothes and they are all in a darker palette. Urgh.

You look gorgeous (again) Day Vies! Love the strong colour contrast in this outfit. I do hear you about the being sick of the cold weather though - we're getting a huge snowfall as I write this and I'm just DONE with it already!

Of course you look great!!! These are things I might try to "springify."

1. When spring is near, one of the first things that starts to bug me about winter wear is black tights. I would try a lighter color, even dark gray. Fabbers love their nude microfishnets, but I've never been able to make myself wear them to work. Or anywhere, even though I bought some. You could consider if they're right for you.

2. Keep the necklace. It reflects an incredible amount of light.

3. The jacket is a great piece for spring because it brings in gray and white. Try tying into those lighter colors. Maybe a gray sweater, or a white button-down. You could also try a print in black and white, black and gray, white and gray, or all three.

3. The skirt is a gorgeous color. You can wear it as far into the season as its weight will allow. You do bright-on-bright really well, so that's always an option too.

Just some ideas, not to make you look better, but to feel springy!

Ah Adelfa, Yes this is what I needed, remembering how to push myself away from the black -- remembering there are OTHER neutrals that go with red. Thank you!

Do you do colour blocking? I've seen some street style combos topping red skirts or pants with pink, or purple.

The color and fit of that skirt - I have to go lie down to recover from it. So stunning.

I love this! Red and Black are classics for a reason! Now, what about red and turquoise? And, next fall, what about red and brown?

Another thing I forgot to say--I like wearing textured tights to switch things up. Sometimes you can get tights that aren't quite opaque that have a discreet same-color pattern in them, like parallel lines, or a very simple and small lace pattern. This lessens the heaviness of hosiery on your legs, and is another trick I use to bridge between black tights and bare legs.

First of all, I haven't seen you in many skirts and do you EVER have fantastic legs!
