Two Piece Dress and new shoes - Link added for Angie

I bought this top at Banana Republic a few months ago hoping to wear it to 2 weddings. I posted about it here and Angie said I needed dressier shoes, which I got (pic #5). I wore it last month with the black skirt and new dressier shoes. My nephew is getting married the end of June and I am not keen on wearing the black skirt again so I went through my closet and low and behold the Halogen pencil skirt is a perfect color match to the top.

My first question is, do you think this combo will work as a two piece dress? I really do not want to wear the black shoes because it is a summer wedding but strappy sandals will not work with my inserts. Then I found these. I ordered them in the pewter and the taupe hoping one of them would work with the dress. Please give me your honest opinions. Will the sandals work with the dress for the summer wedding and if so, which color do think I should keep?

How pretty do your feet look in those shoes? Wow! I love them! I am tempted to try those Niettas in white. I love that they are refined, yet also a wedge. Makes them really wearable. I think you are one of the best shoe-sourcers on this forum.

I adore the sandals, too. I suspect they might be too casual for the wedding but I really love them -- both colours. I think they'd be great for you.

The "dress" looks perfect! Do you have a topper if required?

Suz, it will probably be in the 90's F if not 100F. A topper will not be necessary.

I'm havving trouble with the shoe links for some reason, but I would not rule out wearing your black shoes unless you just find some that you love that are comfortable and good for other outfits. The wedges look so modern, and do go with the outfit, and I think you could use some accessories--a bracelet; a clutch--in either light metallics or in some kind of black & white to lighten things up and tie things together.

I'm off black footwear especially for summer so I get what you are saying but this pair is delicate and refined and I think they are perfect for a wedding, more so than the sandals which are reading a bit casual.
