Two outfits - need help!

I have replaced my camera and now have pics of two outfits!!

1) drop waist mini dress w/ leggings, kc wedges and aqua cardi. I am pleased that the newer pieces (mini dress and leggings) are able to work with so many things. I added an aqua and bronze pin to the sweater. I'm proud of this one!

2) new layering tee with old jeans and old brown tee shirt. What is wrong with this? How can I make this type of thing work work better? I hope it isn't the 3/4 tee, because I bought two of them in hopes do do the layering tee look a lot this fall.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you have for #2!

I think i'd add a colouful accessory to the second outfit. Perhaps a scarf or a belt? x

Thanks Loulou, good idea. I will try this with a belt at the hip.

I have a hard time styling scarves on myself, but I love them on other people. I will have to give it another try.

Wow, the first outfit is great! Nice!

I don't think the second outfit is bad at all - it's a nice casual look and flatters you. What don't you like about it?

Lovely first outfit.

The second outfit has a nice simplicity going on. If it were me, I would probably add a statement necklace - something more substantial than the one you have on now. Big and bold and dramatic. And a clutch in a pattern. Like zebra print ... which would coordinate nicely with outfit #1.

(But don't mind me, I have zebra print on my mind lately!)

The first outfit looks nice.

The second outfit is very casual, which is okay if that is what you are going for. I think the white top is too long. It is bunching around your tummy in an unflattering way. Could you get it shortened, maybe?

The first outfit is so cute. You have a 60's mod kind of look, and I adore the color of your cardigan.
The second one would be cute with a more substantial necklace, or a scarf at the neck, or a jacket or cardi. One more element would bring it together a bit it seems.

Thanks so much for the ideas. That white top is the problem I think. It does bunch funny and I'm not sure if it should bunch or if I should pull it straight down.

Does anyone know what the proper length is for tops? I'm sure I could easily have it hemmed up.

Here's a blog post on top length for both pants and skirts:

Are you trying to use the layering tee as an outer layer rather than an under layer? I think a jacket or vest over this type of blouse (as was previously mentioned) could make it work nicely.

How does the shirt look if you pull it down a little so it doesn't bunch so awkwardly?

The first outfit is KILLER. Well done! Your legs go on for miles and miles.

Hmmm. I’m not sure if it’s the length of the T. I think it’s just a really casual T that looks odd with heels. This is an outfit for Converse, or very casual flats.
