Congratulations on the job! I try almost anything anyway but not with such gorgeous results.

Oh, yes, I believe in "Just Try it Anyway," at least in the dressing room. Sometimes, but not always, I'm pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful outfit. I think the low contrast in the print and the pocket helps streamline things.

I'm also a believer in dressing for opportunity! Hope your class went well, and I'm glad to hear you have a good temp gig. I did my share of admin temping when I lived in NJ and studied/auditioned in NYC regularly.

Rachy -- I am sure that counts. Going with iffy is always better than talking yourself out of an outfit.

Echo -- I am all about breaking my own rules -- it wasn't always like this. Before YLF I lived in my little box and I liked it.

Wendi1984 - I completely support you on the horizontal striped. I had my own revelation earlier this year. I've tried on those horizontal striped maxi dresses they ARE quite flattering. The pattern tends to flatten out the curves on the Z axis and emphasize the cute curves on the X/Y axis. That's just my theory thought.

CocoLion - that is such a positive view on experimentation - if we don't experiment we don't learn.

MaryK - I am so not surprised to learn that you are on team "try it anyway". I loved your Pinspiration outfit for that skirt.

Karie - Another enthusiastic recruit for team try it anyway.

Joy - the mere fact that you didn't see the pockets the first time is just the effect I was going for. I'll take beautiful and brainy complements any day

Mochi -- that is exactly the way I feel, as if there are a lot of things happening right now that are preparing me for the place I've been trying to get to for the past 5 years. (A complete career transition from HR to Law)

FlorenceFearne - I took one of those hair bands doubled it up around my head. I pulled my hair back from my hairline a little in the front and a lot on in the back. It has the effect of looking like a fancy up-do when it's really a loose lop-sided ponytail.

Kkards -- absolutely, in the dressing room the worst that could happen is you hate it, the best that can happen is you love it.

Sveta - Before YLF I was not the biggest fan of animal prints. So many of the ladies have a snake printed something so I've warmed up to prints since joining the forum. I would never have believed that so much of your closet is try it anyway if you hadn't written it. Your outfits are so effortlessly chic.

Eliza - navigate is definitely the key word for recent events. I just can't wait to get to the other side already.

Shevia -- your outfits are so varied and inventive I can't believe your "try it anyways" don't work out regularly.

Beth Ann -- its a full circle moment for me being in a temp role my first position in HR was as a permanent placement consultant (headhunter). It's funny to be on the receiving end of services.

Great strategy, it looks great on you- the pockets do lose significance in the print!
Congratulations!!!

Dv, you are a role model when it comes to being positive. It makes my day better just to read your posts, and even more so seeing how wonderful you look in something that "shouldn't work". It sounds like everything is folding itself out in your favor right now - congratulations!

DV, you look fantastic. I love the snake blouse on you! Of course you can break the "rules" because you always look great!

I am big on trying new things too. What's the worst that can happen? A chuckle and then move on!

Day Vies I've read all the responses about the perfect blouse and agree 100% so I will content myself with sounding a cheer for your choice of shoes. I think they are perfect too.

Lantana - you're right, no one mentioned the shoes. I love a pair of peep toe pumps! They are a lovely soft pink with black trim. I hadn't worn them in a good long while.

GP - excellent philosophy. What is the worst that could happen?

Ingunn - I seem to be winning against should not's lately. The tide is a-turning!

Gorgeous! You look amazing, and I am so glad for the temp assignment. *fingers crossed* for you ont he bar exam!

I know you already have so many compliment, but I just had to chime in to say this is one of my favorite outfits of yours. The top is killer, but that SKIRT. I want one. It's divine.

Oh I love love love it! You look gorgeous. That shirt is fantastic on you. Score for try it on! (And congrats on your fab placeholder job too! Yay!)

I read "Tonight I have class" and thought "what does she mean? She always has class!" you look so perfect!

Hmm, glad you posted this, will now have to try all the tops I see with pockets! This is a very sophisticated outfit, YLF
