This Old Sweater starring "New" Necklace

I wore this to work yesterday. I thought the sweater would look great with the jet and pearl necklaces I twisted together. I am happy with the color palette and the zebra print shoes but I feel like there is no pop to this look. I wore a brick red rain coat over this which made me feel better but I can't exactly work in a raincoat

What do you ladies think? What if anything would you add?

I think the palette isn't too sparse at all IMO, but I could see how you'd feel that way if you were a lover of brights. For some reason I see a pop of yellow with this ensemble...a scarf just draped over your shoulders, perhaps...

Thank you ladies -- I am not surprised that many of you suggested yellow accessories or gold jewelry. I usually wear this sweater with gold jewelry.

Mochi -- you've got me pegged, I love bright colors!
Moira -- I will be trying a gold cuff I have never worn a cuff with this sweater.
Susie -- I think a ring is a great suggestion.
Angie -- I was wondering about the belt -- I never know whether to leave well enough alone or define my waist.

The sweater is a lovely color, but I think the STAR is the combination of the shoes and the necklaces. They bookend each other perfectly. I esp. love what you did with the necklaces!

Day Vies, you're wearing slim trousers, so wearing a roomier top works so well. Plus, it's still quite fitted - in a more modern way.

You look classic and chic. I love the zebra shoes. To my eye, they offer a great "pop" to the outfit. I echo Angie's idea of adding some bracelets.

Nancylee - I'm thinking my pop-o-meter was off a bit yesterday because of the sloppy/rainy weather. I'll have to try this outfit again definitely with bracelets.

Jenava - the shoes just kind of happened. I was looking for another pair when I stumbled across them and they seemed to echo nicely with the necklaces. I like what you are saying about the bookend, and I think I will wear both necklaces and the shoes with a different accent color and see what happens.

Angie -- I like the idea of balancing a loose fit with a slimmer fit and it never occurred to me that fit was one of the reasons why I liked this pairing. I usually think of slim and loose in extremes. (Food for thought!)

There you go, Day Vies. We all learn something new in a day don't we. Today I learned that I like the look of a longer torso, which actually shortens my leg line because I don't like to wear heels.
