What I've worn this week #1-10, a cool summer week.

Today will be hot, so wearing shorts #11.
#12 in the keeping-it-real category : going grocery shopping with my gear jacket (freezing a/c and I need the closed pockets) and backpack.

You've seen all my S/S wardrobe now, I've nothing left to post.

I've realized I don't have summer tops (except the new kimono shirt #10 and 3 tunics I've not worn this year), I use the same tops I use as layers the rest of the year, not sure if they're good enough to stand alone, but that's a problem for next year anyway.

You have a lovely s/s wardrobe. It's great that you can use your tops across seasons. It's better for economy in a closet. I think your outfits are lovely.. My favorites are your short sleeve top, and the blue cross over front top. They are extra special, and add interest to everything without looking overdone.

I love your style - you look elegant and put together always. I also love your kimono shirt, it is a great layering piece, but also is happy to work as a stand alone item. In my experience items such as this are hard to find, but well worth the effort.

I am so glad you started to wear the plaid kimono shirt. It is a great style refresher -- within your style range yet just enough different to make things feel new. I like the other shirts also and think they do stand alone, in particular the blue and white stripe and the short sleeved blouse. If I lived in a more temperate climate such as yours I would probably have a very similar summer style because I would wear more of my long sleeved button front shirts as daily summer wear. (For most of my summer they are too hot, so I tend to wear them more in spring and fall and then as layering shirts in the winter months.)

The colour of your gear jacket is so flattering to you and harmonizes with your footwear!

I love your style. An observation....the only pic you smiled in was the grocery shopping pic. Which made me smile to think - does grocery shopping make her happy? (Since I particularly hate that chore!)

I love the last pic too because you are smiling. It looks like you are preparing for a walk/hike not grocery shopping. The former would make me happy too, the latter not so much! My other faves are no 11 (the floral shirt is pretty and goes well with the shorts), the kimono shirt outfit (no 10) and no 4 (I like the colour palette a lot). I think it's great that you can use the same tops across seasons. I am trying to achieve that.

You have very nice outfits. My favorites are 9 and 12. Coral is a beautiful color on you. Also, you have great looking shoes that seem comfortable. Is that so and what are their brands?

I like all the soft colours in your button downs. My favourite one is the blue stripes with the bow.
I like the proportions of a jacket that hits you mid-hip.

I like all of these, but #6, #9/10, and #11 are my favs. #6 is one of my go-to silhouettes for spring, cool summer, and early fall casual wear. In #9/10, I like the ankle pants with the ankle strap footwear, and the color of the shoes in #11 is super fun.

Even though you say you've nothing left to post, please keep posting! I'd love to see these same items mixed and matched in more outfit posts!

I love that your style is very cohesive and the items are mostly interchangeable. This gives lots of possibilities within a limited wardrobe. It's something I'm trying to achieve myself too...

I love the tops in 10 and 11. I have such difficulty finding interesting prints and those are really lovely on you.

Your style is so sophisticated and chic. Button-downs are really your signature style. All these outfits are great, but the one in #9/10 with the plaid shirt is amazing.

I love #12 because I SO love your smile! As for style, #2 & #6 are seriously fabulous on you.

Your summer wardrobe looks very functional, cohesive, yet versatile. You make me want to throw out 70% of my wardrobe and start from scratch to create something basic yet beautiful that I'd love to wear day after day!

Can't wait to see your Fall/Winter wardrobe, Isabelle. You may not have very many 'true' summer tops, but all of these outfits look pretty good for summer to me!

Maneera : what? I forbid you to throw your wardrobe out, it works wonderfully for you!!

Tanya : thank you, yes I love button downs, they make me feel all clean and proper and dressed when I put them on in the morning. I also love how they look at the end of the day, when they're a bit rumpled and their sleeves haphazardly scrunched up and half way out of my jeans (yes, seriously).

Diane & Meredith : thank you, that's a great compliment. I think I'm more interested in shapes than colour.

Viva : you mean you can't find the prints you love or you're not particularly attracted by any prints?

Olen & Karie : I don't mix&match much, actually, I mostly repeat my favourite combo.

Jaileen & Staysfit : I'm glad the short sleeves top work, I had doubts about this one, it's a new shape for me and I'm not used to it.

Smittie : soft colours, yes, you're right, I didn't even noticed! I think you're right too about the jackets lengths, probably shorter is better because I'm short waisted.

Joyce B : I commute on foot so I need comfy shoes, or I will limp all day.
So #3 and #9 are very comfy and affordable, but they come from French brands that don't sell internationally, I think (Clif and Couleur Pourpre).
#11 is from Spanish comfort brand El Naturalista.
#1 is from an awfully expensive Italian brand, Silvano Sassetti (I have to stalk them for months on amazon until they slash the price by half and even then they're expensive - but I happily splurge, they're good quality and feel custom made for my feet)
#7 is from another Italian brand, Eva Turner, that I usually avoid (they make sky high heels that look very uncomfortable). These are comfy probably because they're made of woven leather so kind of elastic.

Brooklyn & Tammyb : oh no, no, I don't like grocery shopping at all. I smile because it's a silly pic taken on the spur of the moment. The daily selfies are boring to take.

Bijou & Lucy & chewyspaghetti : thanks, the kimono and tuxedo jackets I had trouble to style at first, but they were love at first sight and I'm glad I could make them work finally.

Suz : thank you, I find cotton shirts quite breezy actually, not sure if tee-shirts would really be cooler. If I had warmer weather I'd probably wear sleeveless shirts with shorts.

From this batch, #1, 2, 3, 9 and 10 are my faves. Fun to see you wear coral too. Happy grocery shopping. Bring me back a brownie - the fast in yesterday's ensemble is over.

Thanks, Isabelle. I will keep those comfy shoe brands in mind although I will probably never run into them. Comfortable shoes are a priority for me, too.

Angie has such a way with detecting the essence of a person's style and then describing what she sees. I love her observations here, and she has noted so many of the elements of your style that charm me.
These outfits are a treat to see, Isabelle. I especially like your shorts outfit for the colors and the pretty print in the blouse (which has the look of a Liberty print to me); and though your jacket is gear, it looks perfectly stylish. (Like Maneera, I think it's fun to see your smile in that photo, too.) I like how you combine relaxed elements and touches of formality--as with 5/6: the double breasted blazer and bow blouse, but with the blouse untucked, with cuffed jeans, and the blazer left open. I like the ivory oxfords with the outfit, too--great look with the bit of leg showing.

The first thought was I love those white oxfords. And the double vested jacket. With the umbrella you made me think of Mary Poppins right away - whether Julie Andrews or Dick Van Dyke I can't say. (I hope you have seen it.) I like how your jackets often have graphic elements. You look especially fab on your way to the grocers; might be the smile. Your hair looks extra good in these too. Why do we need more clothes? (Rhetorical only.)

I love the way you use your clothes in such a versatile way. Like you I have a few clothes that i use again and again and like you I wear mainly pants. I think i could learn a thing or two from you about buying quality and styling clothes in a chic way. You do it very well.

What a lovely cohesive set of outfits!! I love 2 and 10 but they are all terrific. While my style is quite different in many ways, I approach my wardrobe in a similar way and repeat outfits regularly. I have also run out of winter looks to post.

I love print- I am mostly drawn to stripes and abstract and bold florals. I do also have checks and spots though.

The check shirt is wonderful on you but the quieter button down shirts are great standing alone especially with great shoes. You have a very elegant but non flashy style.

Love 9 and 10! Are the pants straighter legged than the others? They seem to favor you more.

Firecracker : yes it's a vintage Cacharel shirt in liberty print, these shirts were a huge hit in the 80s here.
You're right, Angie is very good at describing a person's style and that's not easy to do (as I've discovered myself since I started commenting on the forum WIW).

Jaime : oh yes, Mary Poppins was very popular in my childhood. I choose Van Dyke, his clothes look more comfortable and I'd rather sweep chimneys than babysit kids

Avicennia : thank you, yes, they're wider and straight, I usually find wider pants harder to style but this cut works surprisingly well.

Ohh! I love the liberty print shirt - I remember the Cacherel ones so well. We went to Paris on our honeymoon years ago, and I can recall a few very chic women wearing similar shirts. It looks lovely on you!

You wear trousers really well! I love the kimono top too.

I really enjoy your style. Your outfits are very simple, but there is enough detail in the individual items to keep the look interesting. I like your proportions also. Everything looks intentional.

I like all the outfits, but no. 6 is my favorite.The blouse with the tied bow at the collar is super fab!
