Thanks, everyone! I'm glad all are agreed that it works. I am planning to wear it to a theatre outing with my family today! With a topper for warmth in the frigid air con. (That is a story for another post. I experienced 2 back to back days of air con this week for the first time in a long while, and by the end of day 1 I was almost weeping with cold!! Now I know what some of you complain about...)
Lisa, I can try it with a denim or chambray shirt so you can see. I laid them out next to the skirt but wasn't too excited about the pairing. I think it could be made to work with the right accessories. But by that time in my closet play I was running out of steam. And on the whole, I think a stronger colour works better with it.
Sveta, you make me laugh. The trouble with the BR top (pink silk) is that it is very thin, very sheer silk. (This is one reason I am glad I only paid $20 for it.) There will be a lot of grinning. You can't wear a cami with the top because of the back keyhole detail and Armani neckline. So I think that pairing is a bust even if the colours work.
Marcy, thank you! You looked so inspirational in yours, how could I resist this one?
Mochi, I am blushing (and chuckling!)
Deborah, that top is by the Canadian company "Sympli." They make a ton of this drapey jersey stuff. Some of it would be right up your alley and can be found at a good price point. I bought a skirt and this tunic last year when I had to give a presentation I wasn't expecting while I was out of town. I don't wear it a lot because the neckline is not my best, but I do love the drama and ease of it.
Thank you Glory, Shevia, Mo, (I can see why you would like #1 -- seems a bit like you...), Eliza, Lantana, Nicola, Makrame, Shannon, Mani, Beth Ann, Rachy, Joy, Deb, Peri, Mona, Ceit, Carla, Becky, Jeanie.
Eliza that is a good thought about the turquoise, too. Maybe for next year. Jeanne, you can hold me to it!
