The BR fringe dress arrived.

I'm kind of between sizes but I'm erring on the side of looser because it's a flapper style and the smaller size is a bit chest-flattening in a not good way. The fringe is even but looks weird because of my knee; the hem is a high-low cut.

Can't get more IT than this, but this is exactly the cut of dress I love. Ignore the house slippers!

Bonus WIW: Old citron cashmere tunic, old Kut ponte skinnies, BR tassel necklace (consignment). Also gratuitous interfering fuzzballs. Also snow.

The kitties are so cute. And that orange bag?! Gorgeous. I bet it looks great with the citron tunic outifit and whatever coat you wear. (Citron twinset, Alaska-style, by chance? i.e., coat over tunic)

I would love to see the dress with your real shoes. And I'd also love to see the length of the smaller size. Although I guess it is moot if the fit is off otherwise.

Anyway, I feel like these tassels would be even better if they were a titch shorter, showing your knees more....but different shoes might affect my opinion. And (sacrilege) maybe you could slightly shorten the fringe if you agree?

Suz, this is a petite length. The fringe would be impossible to shorten - it's two staggered layers of cut fabric (not silky fringe). I agree it needs to be styled with heeled shoes. Suggestions? I didn't see much difference in length between the two sizes, it was really across the chest that there was a difference.

Just put the heels on. I think the effect will be very different then. Also, the fringe probably looks less "solid" in motion and that will change the effect (for the better). In other words, you are very likely seeing it best IRL. The dress itself is a fantastic shape and you will love it. I adore my similar cut CM one. Just love it. You can eat what you want and still feel svelte. Ha!!

We got snow here last Monday. It was a completely random, unforecast snowstorm. All the weather forecasts said rain and 45 degrees. Then it was snowing and 36 degrees. My sister lives 4 hours south of here and it was 78 degrees at her house that day.

So the frustration for petites - why is this dress the same length in R and P? And there's no way it's 32" - that is the length of the tunic I'm wearing. This length is a bit better for my climate, but I don't want it to look frumpy.

The fringe photographs much heavier than it looks IRL, as Suz suspects. I anticipate wearing the dress with my fake Rockstud heels. Will have to style and retake photos, as I don't want to keep it unless it's a 10 because I have other black dresses. But the fringe is really fun!

Love it all! The dress is awesome. As soon as I saw that dress I knew it would be a winner for an IT...I've contemplated ordering it, but it looked so short on the model and wondered if I would need a Tall, but it looks like plenty of length for you, Una.

5'9....in the past, BR lengths in regular were just fine for me(about the only place they were long enough) , but lately the styles have been shorter. I'm going to see if it's at the local B/M and try it on.

I think the regular will be a nice shorter length on you but it kind of depends on your proportions too - the fringe makes it a lot longer.

Looking at all that snow, I wonder if I'd ever ever want to wear a dress in Alaska! Much less own anything sleeveless!!! But I suppose you're now very used to the bitter cold and heavy snowfall and are an expert of warm layering.....the snow certainly looks beautiful enough to become a cherished postcard though

Manny, sleeveless is strictly for indoors! The kittens are really fun. They love the dog and are a plague for our older cat. I love the picture below - Kona looks so resigned. The lion and the lamb!

I'm pretty sure sleeveless can ONLY be for indoors in your harsh, cold weather. I was reading last night about the Nordic countries, marveling at the fact that people live in places with -40degC temperatures and months of relentless darkness...and here I am crying about the cold in India! We don't even get snow here in Delhi! It's hard for me to imagine temperatures that cold since I've never braved going further up north during winters (not since my husband was posted in Sikkim and I thought I'd die of the cold the day it started to snow )

This is the first I've seen of your fuzzballs, they are so sweet! I love the bushy tail on right side of photo. Are they related? And on another note do you have a feral cat problem like we do in the countryside (because manly men don't believe in taking the manhood from cats)?

The picture of Kona with the kitty is sweet and hilarious. Kona deserves to be a YouTube star with that face.

As for the clothing -- the citron tunic outfit is fab! I'm kind of torn on the dress, as it could be shorter or have a more open neckline. As it is it's a lot of black, even though you wear black well. I know mine is a "fringe" opinion though...
