Hi My Lovelies!

My blue Mango dress with ruched detailing is here!!! I have to say I LOVE the colour in real life just as much as I did in the photos. It works with almost all the shoes, scarves and bags I own and I can style it with white, black, grey, powder blue, nude, pink and red (shoes and bags).

I've styled it for both an evening look (with heels and necklace) and for a day look (with flat sandals and a scarf). I love the fact that this dress is short enough to wear with flats, hence a lot more versatile than most structured dresses.

What do you guys think? Is this one a winner?

ETA: How do I improve the casual look? Would blush metallic flat sandals with a cream and pink scarf work?

PS: I didn't sleep very well last night and woke up like an hour ago....groggy and tired. My eyes look all puffy...but please disregard the face and look at just the dress.

Stunning with the gold necklace and pumps. The color and silhouette is perfect on you. I think the casual look will work better with a lighter looking/feeling scarf. Looks like a winner!

Thanks Kelly. Good of you to help me with the casual styling. Casual doesn't come naturally to me I'll wear a lighter scarf....I do have a nice beige with orange flowers and a cream with pink flowers. Also have lighter scarves in shades of blues. I'll play around with them all. I'll like to style the casual look with pink, I think. I love cobalt and pink together

Anne - is the casual look good? This dress is inherently dressy...but I'll love to have a day look too. Or else I have to wait too long to wear my favourite dresses. I've seen so many girls wear their structured dresses casually with ballet flats in an interesting colour and a large tote plus large sunnies. I LOVE that style (very Parisian and chic) but find it a little hard to pull off because I'm short, curvy and most structured dresses are longer on me. I often need 'some' heel to balance the proportions with structured dresses, if you know what I mean.

Do you think a cream and pink scarf plus blush metallic flat sandals would look better?

I'd love inputs from all of you on how to style the dress casually.

But you know, you're right Una. If a woman who is otherwise the same size as me on the shoulders, waist and hips but has smaller boobs wore this dress, the Deep V would not fit like this. You have to 'full' it out or it would droop weirdly. I think I've finally found a dress that is designed for bustier chicks!

Gorgeous and wow this really shows off your gorgeous figure.

It is a naturally dressy dress and I am unsure of the more casual styling. Can you push the sleeves up, wear the sandals and try your denim vest over it (when it gets home)?

Your dressy styling look lovely. For casual styling, I would replace the scarf with a couple of delicate chain necklaces with dainty charms, a hat, scrunched sleeves, sunnies, summer tote, and your sandals.

Here are some casual styling options...including the denim vest idea Deborah suggested.

I realized only while looking at the pictures that I should've swapped pink sandals for light blue ones with the vest. I'll attack a picture of the sandals too....coz I changed back into regular clothes

Wow! What a fabulously fitting dress! In the first batch of pictures I adore the dressier styling. The grey scarf, however, doesn't seem to have enough contrast though.

On to your second batch of photos and the lighter scarf is much better and you could play around with all sorts of different tying techniques. I really like the denim jacket to and it looks as though those blue sandals would be the perfect pairing. I also think a long pendant coming down in between the edges of the vest may be a nice addition.

Sorry you've had a lousy nights sleep. Not how you want to start the week eh? If it's any consolation you still look your beautiful self. I see no puffy eyes. Try and have a quick power nap later or energise by walking Xena fast!

Wow, what a great dress, happy you got it, Maneera:-). I think it's more on the dressy side, and I wouldn't have think to style it for casuals as you did(for summer)-but it's clever, too. (Is the fabric of the dress matte? that would help for casuals, even more).
If thinking on more casual settings I would have rather styled it for the colder seasons first, with opaques and booties/long boots+ a vest/cardi or jacket over it. Just because has sleeves:-).

I'm glad the 2nd batch of casual styling looks better. I do love the idea of a pendant on a long chain and will wear one (90% of my necklaces are on long chain....I have only about 5-6 short ones). Didn't the denim vest turn out great cropped?!

Thanks Lyn. I do need a casual alternative because i have way more opportunities to wear casual things as compared to dressier things. I have a casual formula for almost everything As for winter styling, this is the 1st dress I've ever bought with sleeves, so I will try to wear it in winters. I love the idea of wearing the dress with a coat (grey or black) and boots. Also, I live in a country with 8 months of summer! Thankfully, there is airconditioning almost everywhere I go. But I know the sleeves make it more apt for winter/fall. The fabric is polyester and its matt

Stylish and a great fit. When casualised, I love it with the vest. I have a bit of a poison eye for sandals and heavier scarves, it can sometimes look a bit seasonally mismatched to me. The denim brings the dress down a notch and so it looks great with more casual shoes.
But well done on finding a dress that looks so FAB on you!

I have dress envy. It looks fabulous on you Maneera and is definitely a winner. I like the dressier styling in the first batch and in the second batch, prefer the style with the denim vest. I am wondering if it is a seasonal thing for me. I find it hard to imagine scarves working when it is hot outside and it is very hot here now.

I had a possibly wacky thought about casualizing the dress so disregard if I haven't had enough coffee to think straight yet. Could you layer a sheer top over the dress - something in a t-shirt type of shape but sheer enough to see the body outline through it so you don't lose the curves? In my mind, it would be white. LOL

Thanks Cheryle. I know what you mean about scarves and the heat! But these scarves are very lightweight and gauzy and not very uncomfortable. It's seasonal though....I wouldn't wear the dress in the daytime right now anyways because the full sleeves makes me run too hot. It's perfect for going out to dinners or meet friends though, and since I'll be in airconditioning all the time, manageable. I don't have a sheer white tshirt kind of top though...but I like the idea. If I see one, I'll try it. Might turn out to be great.
