Here are my outfits from this week:

There are no weekend photos since I had a dance competition today. For those who expressed interest in it, it still went quite bad, but significantly better than the previous one which was a complete disaster.

On Thursday you can see my new Frye wedge ankle boots, which I really like beacuse the color is this weird grey/brow/taupe which matches my hair very well and they were very comfy even at the first wear.

Tara you do indeed wear that fuschia/berry colour beautifully! All your clothes are impeccable yet again!! I think outfit #1 is my fave. I really like your braided belt as well.

I am intrigued by the double wrap belt. The picture is a little unclear so I can't see the detail. Would you post an up close picture of it?

Yes, the Monday double wrap belt is studded, and I will take and post a better photo of it when I get home.

Perfection! Monday's is especially gorgeous with the beautiful color and double wrap belt. Love the boots! What qualifications do you have when looking for a tunic to wear over skinnies as you did on Tuesday?

Joy, I have a couple of requirements when looking for tunics. First, the length should be somewhere mid-thigh, meaning at least 3" above the knee, but long enough to be longer than my widest hip point ( basically it covers my backside completely and is at least 1 " longer than that). Then, the overall fit would depend on the material. For knitted materials - either sweater tunics or jersey ones - I like them to be slight A-line shape, and not clingy. They should still be fitted through chest and shoulders though. For woven ones, such as shirt dresses, straighter cuts can work too, and than I like to add a belt to those for waist definition ( or use the one the shirt dress came with).

Thanks, Tanya. I shopped all weekend for a tunic top without success. I'll make a list of your suggestions for next time. You do this look so well. I'm wondering if my problem is that I'm a little short waisted, but think I just haven't found the right one yet.

Tanya, what kind of top are you wearing under the berry cowlneck in Monday's outfit? I'm asking because I'd like to try this type of layering one day and I can never decide on the base layer, for example, how thin it should be. And I love that double wrap belt on you. Thursday's outfit! I'm tempted to quote Angie - I'm in orbit! WOW! I will definitely try to copy this outfit one day. I adore this look and would like to wear it more often. YES! You look incredible. It has this Edwardian feel on the top, and then you added the brown Frye boots, and it takes it to a whole other level! I can't stop with the exclamation marks!!!

The top I am wearing under berry cowlneck is a very simple tissue tee :

When I need a knitted top to layer under a short sleeve sweater, I am looking for quite fitted, simple shape, in cotton or modal blend. As for the color, if the sweater is a real color, I'll go for a soft neutral - grey, brown, navy etc, , and for neutral sweaters any color goes.

Last week when I wore my Jacob striped short sleeve sweater I layered it over this top:

I also like to layer short sleeve sweaters over button down shirts, but then the neckline if the sweater has to work with the shirt collar.
