Descriptions of your daily ensembles

Tanya 06/11

Here's what I wore today trying to survive the heat while confirming to the long pants lab requirements. I was going to wait till the end of the week to post more at the same time, but decided to do it know since it was great timing with Lindz 's question on sprucing up white top/brown bottom combo. This is my new Anthropologie top worn for the first time and old but comfy brown linen pants. And I think the oufit just negs for a red necklace which goes on my to get list immediately ( instead of the blue). Lidz, I'd skip the necklace if I am already wearing hoop earrings and vice versa.

Hey Tanya, absolutely love the color combos going on here- like you said, great timing on sprucing up a brown/white outfit. I'm surprised that the two colors work so well, perhaps I'll have to step out of my neutrals rut and try a bright handbag.....

I really like that top- does it work with skirts?

I believe it definitely does. Here it is (it comes in a lot of colors):

Very nice color combo, Tanya! I love your new top! What kind of necklace is that you're wearing?

Posted 1 year ago

Thanks Dani! The necklace is from NY&Co and it's made from some kind of nice plastic that resembles turquoise closely. They have a lot of costume jewelry in that color. Here's a close-up of my necklace:

Is it just me, or are you showing more of your face in your photos. You're such a tease!

Posted 1 year ago

Oops, it wasn't on purpose. I usually crop the image before posting it if it's too face revealing. I posted this one in hurry for Lindz. Anyway, I believe it's still not recognizable.

I'm just kidding, T.

Hahah, I'm not gonna post my face either :) Just a quick question before I call it a night- I LOVE the Benneton top you have in your photobucket. Did you have to buy it in the store, or do they have them anywhere online? I know you said you were waiting for it to go on sale though....so the top is probably already sold out. I can dream though...

I love that top to pieces. Stupid boobs (mine, that is).

Do those pants have ties at the end?

Posted 1 year ago

I know N. Btw, my BF and some of his friends actually call me T ! :o)

Lindz, the Benetton top is from the store, they do not sell stuff online. But I bought mine ~12 days ago, so there's a good chance that they still have it. Give it a try if you have the store in your city!

Thanks Maya! Yes, the pants do have ties at the end which I am not a big fan of, but I bought the pants anyway since they were both very comfy and cheap (H&M). I tie them as loose as possible so that I do not scrunch the pant hem at all.

Something about people's names that start with the letter T and the letter E. I always want to call them by their first initial.

I'm going to call you "lips". We keep on getting glimpses of these luscious lips!

A sweet casual outfit. The necklace must match your light blue eyes. Pretty.

Thanks for the lovely compliment Angie! *blushing* It seems to me that my mafia name keeps changing pretty often.

That's very interesting Nicole. At first I was slightly annoyed being called T as one could confuse it with the drink, or even worse, the subway! But I got used to it. As they say :" If you can't win...

I like this outfit, Tanya. The white and yellow make the brown look fresh.

I actually thought the ties were kind of cute. I'm used to seeing you in very polished, professional looking outfits (even when you're wearing jeans), but I think this is a sweet cozy look.

Thanks Ana & Maya.

Maya, I mostly prefer polished "smart casual" type outfits, but here-there I crave something more relaxed and comfortable. Thats usually when cozy pants and/or my Pumas come out. Having a an extremely busy day in the lab or my right ankle hurting more that usual ( I had a bad sprain two years ago that I never quite recovered from - hence the temporary stop in my ballroom dancing) usually brings out my casual side.

I didn't comment yesterday since I was not able to see the picture. This is such a soft and yet smart outfit. Love the color combinations. The details of the top is very cute.

This is Tanya's version of "sweats". I'm doing a happy waddle.

"At first I was slightly annoyed being called T as one could confuse it with the drink, or even worse, the subway!"

As I was reading this I thought, "There's a drink called 'T'?" And... wow. And I've had my morning coffee, so I'm not sure what my excuse is!

Anyway! I really like that top.

LOL Lannie! Btw, here in Boston the subway is called "T" :)

Posted 1 year ago

I knew they called their subway the T but I haven't had the chance to go on the Boston subway yet. I did visit Boston really briefly on the way to Salem, Mass. when I was about 14. All I remember is the Green Monster and reeeeeally needing to go to the bathroom after a long drive (haha). If I have my way, I'll visit Boston and Salem again this summer. After taking American Lit this past year and studying some American history (you know, all the pioneering and Manifest Destiny and so forth) my inner geek wants to visit again, now that I'll be able to better appreciate everything.
Anyhow, that's quite a detour from the topic of fashion!

OH trust me, you are not missing much by never riding the T. They're gross. Not confusing, like NY--but just as nasty. Of course, living in the suburbs my whole life, I never got used to subway conditions.

Posted 1 year ago

Ha! I guess that's how I feel about buses in my city. I've been on the subways in Toronto, Montreal, and NYC. I wouldn't vouch for their cleanliness of course, but I'm always so impressed by how efficient subway systems are.
And then of course there are trains, perhaps my favourite way to travel. They're just so relaxing and kind of... elegant? It's an under-appreciated form of transportation.

Tanya I love the Anthropologie top on you! And the colour combinations you have put together! You look so cute :-)

Despite show internet, I’ve been catching up on old posts. Just couldn’t stay away from this place more than a month. ;) I’ve been trying to read fast and not comment, but I had to comment on this outfit. I adore that top Tanya! I love everything you wear, but for some reason this one stuck out to me. When I saw that it was from Anthropology my first thought was “I shouldn’t even look at this. It will cost $130 and fall apart after a few months.” But I loved it so much that I followed the link and looked anyway and was pleasantly surprised to find it at only $48! As soon as I get my budget up-to-date I’m headed to Anthro to try it on. Hope you don’t mind me stealing your shirt. :)

Hi Sarah, I am so glad to see you back! We miss you so very much here!

Thank you very much and please do not hesitate a single bit to steal this top or whatever else you like. This top has become one of my favorite summer pieces, very versatile.
