First, thank you all for offering support, sympathy, links, and packing advice yesterday. It was all very helpful to me and I know I will be going back to follow up on some of the links again at greater leisure.

And now, here is what I am taking! I actually feel pretty hopeful about this capsule. It is bigger than might be ideal, but not ridiculously so, and most elements work well with the whole. We will be gone 7 days, including travel time.

Tops:
1. white shirt
2. violet shirt
3. sleeveless mauve (?) turtleneck jersey top with cummerbund waist detail
4. off-white layering T, long sleeved
5. short sleeved plum-y pink T shirt
6. navy silk shirt
7. sleeveless GAP geometric grey/blush/off-white/taupe pussy bow blouse
8. magenta knit top (warm) for possible cool day

Plus a few layering camis/ tanks in coordinating colours.

Toppers:

1. Navy AT jacket with military details
2. Red/white/blue collarless BR jacket, reads as lilac or mushroom
3. Cropped abstract floral BR cardi

Bottoms:

Straight leg jeans
Skinnies
White linen pencil skirt

NOTE: Bottoms complement is pretty thin, but it is what it is; this is what I own. Waiting for me should be a pair of Kut from the Kloth white jeans, and a black Halogen seamed skirt. One or both of these may fit and be wearable for the trip; if not, one of my jobs is to seek a nice navy pencil skirt, something I have been wanting for a long time.

Dresses:

1. Blue/grey cowl neck jersey dress. Can be worn sleeveless or over a top. Can be belted or left plain.
2. Silk floral, for possible "night out" in warm weather.

Shoes:

1. Taupe Report booties (super comfortable, thank goodness!)
2. Pewter Aerosoles sandals

NOTE: The Doc Saras should also be waiting for me. If they work out, I will have another pair of shoes, and I will certainly shop for spring shoes in NY .

Outerwear:

Black trench
Red Umbrella

Bags:

Yellow crossbody
Dark red crossbody

Scarves:

1. Blue striped cotton knit
2. Leopard print
3. Cotton gauze lilac snake print

Also bringing exercise gear and shoes (these are black and look sort of Con-like, so can be worn for shopping if my feet need a break), plus sleepwear, tights/ hose, and underwear, plus some jewelry.

The forecast is mostly for freakishly warm weather. But evenings will be a bit cooler, of course. I can layer under both jackets and of course also under the trench.

The first outfit is my travel outfit for tomorrow. The next one (with white skirt you can't really see) is what I might wear to hubbie's presentation. You can see there are other mix and match possibilities, of course, depending on weather and what we end up doing.

Thanks again for your help and of course would love your feedback, if any!
