The weather was all over the map this week, but as you'll see I wore dresses half of the time! I think this may turn out to be the Summer of the Dress for me.

1) Rainy Monday

Inspired by the MOTG threads. This is one of my favorite simple cotton tops. It's BR. Unfortunately, it's not holding up so well to the dryer and is starting to pill. Worn with new necklace purchased at open studios.

Tuesday - stuck in gear

Wednesday - wore this dress-over-jeans outfit, but with skinny jeans - did not take another photo so you're stuck with this one:

2) Thursday - ATL dress

3) Friday - sheath dress. Purchased this at the end of the summer last year so this is the first chance I've had to wear it. Perfect for 90 degree heat! It looks cute with the leggings but it was much too hot for them.

My tummy was enormous on this day - about 5 month pregnant's worth - but the busy pattern did a fair job of disguising that fact. I do not want anything tight around my waist when my tummy's bloated.

4) Saturday - out and about

Sunday's outfit was sort of inspired by Maya's interview outfit! I came up with this combo on that day, but didn't get around to wearing it until yesterday. Does it work? Is it age appropriate? It got DD16's two thumbs up - she said it was something she would wear in a heartbeat, so that has me questioning. Also, this is the first time I've put a barrette in my hair like this:

... does that work on me? I'm on the fence. I worry it's too young looking, but it was quite practical yesterday when we were out on the wharf in the wind. Kept my hair in place instead of blowing in my face.

I don't really think Sunday's outfit looks "inappropriate" at all. Then again, I'm only 18 so I'm not the best person to comment!

BTW, that "action shot" is just fantastic!

I hear you on this being the Summer of the Dress. It is for me too. I even have that great polka-dot ATL one; boy, that sold out fast! I don't think it was in the store or the website for even a couple of weeks. I loved that citron sweater with it; great color for you.

I loved your week in total, of course, and I think the dress you wore with the jeans will look great with leggings too. Thursday's with the pearls and the pearls pattern repeated on the dress is adorable, and yes, leggings will work there too.

Love Sunday's touristy outfit; you look cool and comfortable and stylish. The barrette is adorable AND appropriate!

I loved all your outfits, but I must admit you knocked it out of the ballpark with all three dresses. Way to go!

Sunday's outfit is my favorite. I love the combination of the silky blouse with the vest and clams. Beautiful!!!

I love all your outfits, Shiny. I know what you mean about worrying when your DD approves of an outfit- and says she would wear it. It always stops me in my tracks. But in this case I think you really do look age appropriate- much more put together than what the typical 16 yr old wears!

And I have to say it- DH is a such a cutey!

You make dresses look easy and fun. Love the polka dot with citron cardi - my fave of the week.

I have had the same issue with BR tops and have taken to turning inside out to wash and then pull out of dryer half dry and hang for rest of dry time. Otherwise they seem to pull (esp. BR outlet stuff).

I love all the dresses! And I really like the black polka dot and yellow cardi. My favorite is probably the green top with the khaki blazer. I guess that looks the most like your style, but it's so nice to see you in some different outfits! The vest outfit is great, too.

Lwc, I'm saving the watercolor dress for the reunion this weekend!

Angie - yes, I got my haircut this week. I'm afraid that my hairdresser overdid it on the highlights this time (he's convinced I can go Marilyn Monroe blonde, and I don't want to, but he doesn't really listen and instead goes with his "vision."). But it'll tone down with time. Right now it's lighter than DD14's hair, which to me is wrong: I like being right in between her hair color and DD16's. Both got their haircut this week as well - and look smashing!

Ana, I do like my "uniform" look as well - but since it's getting hot now it's not so practical and I am forced into dresses.

Bella, the black top is actually longer than it appears in that shot - I think it hiked up on me while I was posing. The green top is kind of a weird length, it's a little too long for skirts and not quite long enough for pants. Making matters worse, my stomach was all bloated out that day, so it hiked up even farther.

shiny, yet another fab week! That citron cardi with the ATL black polka dot dress is plain yummy. The barette is such a cute touch!

Shiny, you look fabulous everyday. You are a knockout! I love your new hair cut and color. Your skin is radiant! That closeup shot is amazing. You wear the hair clip very well and should not worry that it would be too young at all. It looks like a good way to keep your hair controlled on a hot day.
Your legs are killer and you look amazing in dresses. I love the black and dot one with the pearl necklace.
In a previous post you mention weight gain, I absolutely do not see it. You look wonderful.
Edit: Forgot to say the picture with your hubbie is so cute. I love that head of hair he has! Don't let me get close, I might have my hands all over that hair! It looks very inviting! (Do you have that problem when you take him around your friends? HaHa!)

Your black and white dresses are also fantastic. AND, you wear earth tones well too! Your new haircut is superb. That lighter color really suits you!

Shiny, as usual, everything looks fabulous. I wanted to comment that I really like you in those dangly earrings - you seem to mostly do necklaces (and boy, you do them well) but I love how the earrings look with your hair!
