Here's what I wore out last night - new BR top that I think I will have fun with this fall:

Wasn't sure about the cream bag with the champagne top, but I took along a cardi to kinda break up the look... however it was too hot to wear the cardi:

As I mentioned I debated long and hard about the bow part - would it be less versatile because of the bow? Too dressy? Or does it work with the jeans? What else/how else can I wear this jacket? What do you think?

(I also rec'd my Sweet pea blouses - both keepers - and my NL blouse late yesterday after we'd already gone out... so will save those photos for another time).

Shiny, you are so adorable! I love absolutely everything. I am swooning over that black and white jacket . I know you didn't ask for CRS, but I'd give it a perfect 10. Killer, as Angie would say. The Mango cream one is gorgeous as well. Your Paris purchases are great!

I love your BR top and the whole outfit , very nice. I also got my Sweat Pea top, it fits great as well. Oh, and I'm dieing to see the NL blouse on you!

A 10... awesome!!! Then I made the right choice. I wanted one perfect killer item from Paris, to remember the trip always. And it was so much more cheaper than the couture Chanel jacket... hee hee. Really - it was comparable to, say, BCBG jacket pricing!

The Mango jacket: I've been loving the cream with black button trenches - the "Angie" trench. And the fall ones Inge posted (I think it was Inge... pardon if I have people confused...). Mango had similar styled coats, but the look just doesn't work on me. So I went with this one, which I think is better for an hourglass shape. Plus I'm still hesitant about cream/white coats, so the price was reasonable enough I can take a chance and not get too disheartened if I muck it all up.

Sweat pea tops: the navy one? I'm really craving grey flannel dress slacks to go with that. I have been dreaming about grey flannel slacks for awhile now, not sure why this is stuck in my head....

1. Love with and without the cardi! Perfect.

2. Cream Mango Jacket: It get's even better! Wow. OMG! Killer.

3. Black Jacket with White Bow at Waist. This is beyond perfection. 10++++ Beyond killer.
I don't think there's much you could not wear with this.

Kyle, you think it's fine with those jeans? I'd imagined it would look smart with my white jeans, or white dress slacks. I was thinking this was more of a "dress up/special occasion" jacket than smart casual?

Please send along any and all ideas about how I might "style" this jacket.... it actually looks kinda okay unbuttoned too... but I'm not sure, I think it's meant to be buttoned, because of the bow?

Shiny - I love both of these jackets - but my fave is the one from Galleries Laf. I give them both a 10! I also really like the skinny jeans on you, it's inspiring me to try a pair myself.

The black and white jacket with the bow is gorgeous! I think it would look great with white slacks for "dress up." Maybe try it with long bootcut jeans and heels if you want something not quite as dressy.

Julijuli, technically those are my straight jeans... i have yet to wear the skinnies! They are darker wash and super-duper ultra skinny. Think: denim tights.

I have to work up my courage to wear them.....

The straight jeans I'm loving though - super comfy.

Shiny, great purchases. I'm SO jealous! Your outfit last night was great and I agree with Angie (and the others) that you look great in straight leg jeans!

The jackets are both 10+! I LOVE the black and white one. I think it will look wonderful with your white jeans and white slacks. I can also see it with black slacks. What about with grey slacks and red shoes? I think there are many possibilities for that jacket.

I love everything!
The first outfit looks greaet. I don't mind the top with the cream bag at all, but it looks great with the cardi, too.
I love the Mango jacket on you. Now I want a cream jacket for the fall.
And, of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the black jacket with the bow. It is an amazing jacket and it fits you so well. I think it would look great with dark wash jeans, especially your skinnies, and heels.

Nice finds Shiny. While I love the bow jacket, and you really rock it--my favorite is the cream one. If I saw you walking down the street in that jacket, I'd definitely approach you with a compliment to find out where you got it!

Thanks Nicole! Now I just have to figure out what purse to go with the cream jacket. I'm thinking cream purse with cream jacket is too matchy-matchy. I will start a new thread for that question.

Angie - quick q - what was the rule again, for where the sleeves should hit? Was it the first thumb knuckle? The mango sleeves are hitting at my second thumb nuckle... the other jacket... covers my entire hand if it's not rolled up...

Just want to get this right. Going to get myself to the tailor (found a good one recently that comes highly recommended) with both pieces, as soon as I have a chance (which is looking like not anytime soon, what with school crazinesss starting... )

Great finds, Shiny! I'd give them both a 10! I like the idea of the bowed b&w jacket with white trousers or jeans, but I also like Dani's idea of gray trousers with a pop of red. I think Angie said jackets should be at the third thumb knuckle?

Shiny and Becky, quite right - third thumb knuckle. That’s’ quite long, but I personally fancy that luxurious length. You can go a little shorter if you like. I often find sleeves too short – I must have gorilla arms. I get VERY excited when I find sleeves at my luxurious length!

Thank you for the sleeve length tip Angie. I have very long arms as well, I thought it comes with the whole long torso/short legs deal. I also find a lot of jackets to be a bit too short in the sleeve length. Once my ballroom coach commented about how extremely long my arms are, in a private lesson while having slight difficulties figuring out how to achieve the best hold for me with my partner who had pretty short arms

Okay - there are THREE knuckles in one's thumb??? I'm counting two. I guess there's a joint near the wrist but I wouldn't call it a knuckle, since it has none of those weird wrinkles. I think what you're meaning is the base of the thumb. Or I'm horribly disfigured.

My other fingers have three knuckles though....

Becky and Dani: I like the idea of gray trousers. I've been craving gray flannel trousers. But for some reason I'm picturing these trousers with purple shoes....

Wow, I wish I didn't have morals otherwise I'd break into your house and steal that fabulous bow jacket (and then return it because it would look better on you). Everything else looks great but that jacket steals the show for sure.

Is it okay to say that I'm thoroughly tickled that I bought something I can't get in my local stores here in the U.S.? That was definetly my goal. I had no idea about this brand, and I've been procrastinating about looking it up online, afraid to discover it's something I could've bought here.

Mango- if we have a shop near us, I have no idea about it. I checked their site and I can't find their store locator anywhere. But I see they do have an online site....

I don't particularly like that mall either ( most of the stores are out of my budget, but it's nice to look), but I do go there from time to time. I might be there next weekend to particularly check that store out, or maybe Zara on Newberry street, or maybe both

Shiny - I totally echo what everyone is saying. Gorgeous, killer. Anytime you want to trade that killer black and bow jacket, just let me know. It score a 15 on a scale of 10 for me. The rest are all 10's. And I know what you mean about getting a kick out of getting something from out of town. I felt that way when I got my loot from Lisbon and whenever I find a Zara's since we don't have one locally.

OMG! I'm so late to this thread but I had to tell you that I LOVE that bow jacket!!!!!!!!!! K-I-L-L-E-R, like Angie says!!!!! WOW! All your outfits get a 10 from me, but that jacket is just breath taking!

So, can I ask you where you got your straight leg jeans? I think you are my height (5'2", correct me if I'm wrong), so I am dying to know!!!
