Hi Shiny,

How did I miss this thread?!

Congrats on your awesome Paris treats, Shiny. This bow jacket is amazing and it looks perfect with those dark jeans. I second Sihaya, isn't it a treat getting something from out of town/country? I used to return to Oregon with one cool item every summer.

Have fun!

I also missed the thread earlier and am now so glad to find it. Ditto on what everyone said about the outfits. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bow jacket (and I am not a bow person). Yes, yes, yes wear it with jeans!

I'm very late but just wanted to chime in and congratulate you on the fantastic buys! I did the same in HK that only looking for brands we can't find here. I bet that you'll feel very special when wearing them and be proud to tell the stories when people ask about them.

Also I love your BR top very much especially with the cardi, I think that jewel tone clothes are made for you.

Shiny-You look wonderful in everything and are a great style inspiration to me. I'd happily wear any of your outfits!

I have had such a long exhausting day and you're all perking me right back up! Thank you!

I got the nanette lapore jacket yesterday - and it fits very similarly to the lm lulu jacket - except no trim or bow and it has slanted pockets with zippers. I will post a photo when I get a chance to wear it or just play around.

Muequita, the jeans are Citizens Elson High Rise in dark paris wash. Even though I'm only 5'0" I've learned I cannot wear a lot of petite brand jeans. This includes ATL, AT, BR, etc.. and there's a few premium brands that come in petite but I can't remember the names right now....

I am short but I guess my rise is closer to normal length - or it's the belly that needs the extra length. Or I just like a high enough rise to suck in any extra belly. I don't know what it is.

Anyway, my "holy grail" jeans are Citizens. I now have the Huttons (two pairs - one for flats and one for heels), Ambers (in dark wash and in white), and the Elsons (which you see in these pics). My skinnies (which I haven't yet debuted except for in one blurry pic) are Earnest Sewn.

My denim clams are Inc brand petite - which I am hit or miss with. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Shiny, thank you so much for taking the time to tell me all about your jeans. I have added the Citizens Elson jeans to my wish list, and I'm excited to try them. I have never tried Citizens believe it or not, so I will try on all of these styles knowing that they worked on petite you.

I like Seven for All Mankind and Paige denim, but I tend to find jeans anywhere really. My only issue is pants length because they are always long for me, and I always have to tailor the hems. Interesting that you have close to a normal rise!

Muequita, I have heard if you like 7's you will probably like Citizens. I don't know if that's true, because the 7's didn't quite work for me. I don't remember why now - but maybe it's because the 7's are better if you are in your 20s instead of 40s, like I am.

I cannot wear Paige at all. I try... because they are the number one brand for petites... that is what I read everywhere.... and they look absolutely awful on me.

I have to have everything tailored. I go to National Jeans Company and they do the tailoring for you - $10. They do the "reattach" hem you mentioned in the other thread.

Ooh--I adore the jacket from Galleries Lafeyette
