Thank you everyone for your kind comments! I was ready to consign the cord skirt because I just didn't love anything I had to go with it. I had a navy swiss dot blouse, but it was very loose and not tailored at all. When I saw the blouse at Target I thought I'd give it a try, and I'm absolutely in love. I want to try aqua beads, but I'm happy with the combination I have for now.
I'm so happy that I had an opportunity to wear the purple dress. I bought it for my husband's office Christmas party, but at the last minute the venue changed. Then I planned on wearing it to a Greyhound Gala that Ana invited me to, but then my husband had last minute trip that kept us from going. So finally I got to wear it this past weekend. I'd been doubting the purchase, but I'm so glad I had it. It was perfect.
The last outfit I love, too. That Express shirt fits like a dream, and so do those Halogen pants. I now cruise Nordstrom.com about once a week to see if more of those go on sale. They aren't pricey to begin with, which is nice. Pearl, they are a tad long. I had a friend try to hem them, but the way the cuff is done made it really tricky. I need to take them to get altered.
My legs really aren't a mile long (you can see the difference between the photos my husband took and the ones I take on my own). The photos Bryan took are accurate. They're long, but not super long. Those pants really help, though!
Inge, I did manage to find some camp style shirts with epaulettes. Express had one I liked, as did Michael Kors at Saks. The Men's Shop at Saks is great. Online doesn't give many options, but they have a great selection at quite reasonable prices. My husband (like me) feels better when he's dressed nicer. It's his solution to being so young in a mostly older work environment.
