Saga of green blazers continues plus a denim shirt: K/R

Even though Angie was approving the apple green Gap blazer in my yesterday post I still had doubts because quite a few gals said that it is too bright for me.
Here is another green blazer I found yesterday in Winners: it is more sedate than the apple green but does it suit me more? Also I decided to take pictures with some makeup on as yesterday I had none and definitely did not look my best.
Does it make any difference? Which green is better? My hubby liked the apple green better which surprised me because he is not into very bright colors as a rule...
Also I was looking for a denim shirt last night. BR one was shorter than I would like but I found this one at Zellers. It is a good length on me but is it good overall? The lining on the cuffs and collar are checkered fabric - is it interesting or tacky?
Is it too high contrast with my jeans - all my jeans are dark wash? Will it work for a "column" from Angie's post or not?

You can wear either but the apple green is just so juicy and crisp. The addition of bright lips just makes the look. Whichever denim shirt you are wearing in pic #1 and #2 looks great to me. Not sure about #3.

I like both greens on you! You can't go wrong either way.

The denim shirt fits really well, Sveta! Personally, I find the plaid insets limiting because I want there to be colour continuity when I pop and scrunch. But this is a personal thing.

Oh...this is tough!

They both look good. Perhaps the first one is technically better. But I just love the apple! And really, with the makeup you can wear either very well.

I like the shirt cuffs and collar, too.

I like the apple green one. It is a great color on you. The other green is good too, but I am more drawn to #2. And the denim shirt is smashing!! Love, love, love that.

I also think looking at these pictures few times , bright green jacket looks almost too short, packets are sitting way up high, Can you tell I want to find something wrong with it, so you keep the first one, LOL

Renata, I think this is exactly what draws me to the apple green one - it does not blend in, it stands out and I like it.
Anna, I don't want to be on trend just for the sake of being on trend: I want to be on trend if this particular trend fits with my body and my personality and my sense of style if it makes sense.
Angie, I see what you mean with the plaid inserts. But other than those it meets your approval? I think I can live with them for now and then maybe ask my mom to change them to denim if I feel like it.

Both greens are lovely on you! I might prefer #1 with the denim shirt, but I think I'd prefer #2 over white, ivory, stripes -- anything light in color!

The denim shirt fits really well, and if you are okay with those under colors, it should work well.

As far as column of colour - your two denims might be too different to really be a column. . .I see three colors when I look at pics #1 and #2 (the dark denim, you shirt denim, and the jacket green). They're not quite as different as Kyle's first round was, but not as cohesive as the Blog pics. Let's see what others say. . .

To my eye, there is nothing wrong with the fit of the apple green blazer. It's shrunken and cheeky. I have a blazer that fits just like that, actually. The darker green is more of a classic style, and fits in a regular way. It's also very nice!

Sooooo this is what I see:

dark green - more refined and elegant

apple green - more cheeky and daring

I prefer the brighter blazer, but I definitely think that there is probably a shade out there that would be more flattering for your coloring. Both of the greens are very blue based.

I like the shirt, but don't really care for the plaid-- for somethings it will look great, but with other thinks it can create a bit of the "embroidered cats are hiding under my jacket lapel" effect. In the states there is an extension of the canadian or texas tuxedo look where women who wear too much blush and frosted lipstick bedazzle and embroider odd things on denim to create "dressed up denim" so when I wear denim head to toe or on a shirt or jacket I try to avoid that look.

I think the darker green is slightly more flattering, but the apple green is more on trend. But yeah either will work.

Hi, Sveta. The shirt is fabulous and yeah, the collar-popping would limit its versatility, but it looks great not-popped, so there you go! And as for the jackets, I personally think cooler colors look better on you, so would prefer the first jacket. I do like the apple-green color; it's just a matter of degrees.

I think the soft blue denim shirt helps the fluorescent green out a bit, but I still very much prefer the #1 blazer. As Misia said, I feel like I see the jacket first in #2.

I think the plaid insets *could* limit the versatility of the shirt but if you have someone willing to change them out when/if you find them limiting, well it isnt limiting anymore! i like the bold look of the brighter green jacket.

I like the apple green jacket best (#2) on you. It no longer looks too bright. The other green jacket is nice but this one is more fun. The shirt looks like it's a perfect length for you. How fabulous that your mom can change out the check for denim if needed. I can't wait to see how you style the jacket and wonder if it can work with the yellow pencil skirt.

I think the first blazer looks much better with your skin tone. I also like the longer cut. Angie called it traditional but it looks a bit boyfriend to me. Since your legs are longer than your torso, I think the longer cut really works well on you.

I like both blazers. If you want bright and fun I vote blazer #2. If you think you will tire of a bright blazer, then I vote blazer #1. I do think blazer #1 will work better with your bright yellow Halogen skirt. For the denim shirt, this one looks fine to me for length and color of the wash. The cuff detail, if you plan to cuff the sleeves so the plaid shows, this may not work well with outfit mixing.

I"ve had a change of heart The addition of make up and the styling has me rooting for the apple green blazer. The pics are a bit small on my screen, but from what I can tell, the color seems to suit you.

Talk about a difficult decision Sveta! I really like both blazers and I think it depends what you're looking for - I think the green of #1 and the fit is more classic and may be somewhat more versatile with your existing wardrobe; the green and fit of #2 is fun, fresh and on-trend. It's a tough call!

I prefer the first one; it looks more chic/modern to me. I think they are equally trendy (both bright colors that you can colorblock with), but I think the first color will work much better with your current wardrobe. I like the length on it too.

For me, the plaid on the denim shirt would be a dealbreaker, but if you think your mom can address it, then go for it.

the apple green! keep the apple green, you simply looked brighter yourself with it on! And it pairs so well with your red lipstick! The other one, well if you return and regret, there will be another one in that kind of color but the apple green is NOW!

I prefer the first blazer because of its shape. The plaid cuffs on the denim shirt would be a deal breaker for me too, but I do love the fit and length of that shirt on you.
