So in case you were wondering why I wasn't on the forum today or posted an outfit (or maybe you weren't and I'm just needy - lol!) I spent the better part of the day at an injury clinic getting my ankle assessed.

Yesterday on the way home from work I stopped at the grocery store to pick up milk and while walking back to my car reach for my keys and stepped into a not-very-large hole in the sidewalk and completely wrenched my ankle. I hobbled to my car and when I got home promptly iced and elevated it.

Well during the night it swelled to quite the size and turned a bit of an odd bruised colour and was pretty darned sore. So off the clinic. X-rays and exam revealed no broken bones but a severe sprain and torn ligaments.

So I'm in an ankle brace for a few weeks and then physiotherapy. I'll be able to ride a bike or swim in about two weeks but no running for at least 6, maybe more depending on rate of recovery.

I have to wear a sock underneath the brace so that I don't get a rash or irritation from the velcro, but can only fit my foot into a sandal. I'm not sure how that's going to work when the snow comes. Plus I'll only be able to wear a flat on the other foot so that I'm balanced which means that will limit which trousers I can wear because most of mine are hemmed for at least a 2 inch heel. I only have two pairs of flats that will work in winter weather.

Oh well - guess I'll figure it out and I'm grateful nothing was broken. I guess I'll have to just be stylish from the knees up for a while - lol!
