Here is my submission for this weeks SYC challenge. I used a variation of the summer formula #2 http://youlookfab.com/2008/07/.....-outfit-2/
I am opting for a long flowy vest thingy instead of the denim jacket.

Outfit 1 is what I first came up with for casual... but wanted to make it even more casual with another top.

Outfit 2.. My visits to my kids closets in search of a graphic T proved unfruitful so I decided to try it out with this denim shirt instead. eh... I'm not jumping up and down...are you?

Outfit 3... This isn't the smartest jacket I own, but the length is right, (actually I guess this is more like the denim jacket called for in the formula... but the shoes and pearls step it up from errand wear to Back To School Night, don't you think?

This was not easy actually. I tend to over think things and that was no exception in this challenge.

hmmm.... I was going to go with the first outfit for today, but now that I see them side by side, I may switch to #2.. what do you all think?

I like them all, but favor #1 for the casual outfit. You look great!

I like #1 just the way it is.

I'm not so sure about the flowy vest with #2. I really like the denim shirt with the skirt though and wonder what other top layers you have in your closet - your white vest, or a white cropped sweater, or . . . ?

I really enjoy the way you smartened up the outfit by adding the blazer and pearls. The structure of the blazer adds sophistication and those pearls would smarten up any look, don't you think?

Oh yes, shoes. The silver sandals are a bit smarter than the black gadiators, but lately, I've been personally sensing that my smarter looks are coming from even more closed type shoes - does that makes sense?

I honestly think that the second outfit makes you look longer and leaner. And I am not just being nice.

I did end up sporting the second outfit yesterday... for those who voted #1, I'll wear that combo soon.

Sara- I really don't have much in the way of closed shoes other than boots and a couple high vamp pumps.. I had tried one of them and they were not right either, but I do see what you are saying.

Oooh, love outfits #2 and #3. I prefer a slight bit of structure (the collar) in outfit #3 to contrast with the flowy vest. And I adore your jacket in #3 - back-to-school night indeed - go to the head of the class, Queenie!
