Queen Mum summer dressapalozza: casual edition

By casual, I mean very casual hanging out at home and maybe a trip to the grocery store when I run out of wine

#1.. this is my current collection of this type of casual dress. See anything that should be given it's eviction notice?

#2-6 Target dresses. #3/4 has been in and out of the return bag a half a dozen times. My hesitation is that I don't want to have to wear a belt with it on a hotter than hades summer day. Which of these dresses are a 9 or 10, for casual purposes.

#7 I found these Kut skinnies on sale on Nordies.com for $39 and couldn't resist duplicating them. I've worn my others all winter long. I think that rear whiskering will relax after an hour or so of wear. What do you think of these? Oh, and as soon as I placed my order, I was going to alert everyone here, but when I went back to find the link it said no longer available Apparently I got the last pair? That was weird.

#1-All dresses look fine to me. For super casual days the gray stripe dress would be the first one I grab. The second dress with the big flowers seems the dressiest of the bunch. I'm not as big of a fan of the big flowers compared to the abstract prints and stripes of the others in the group. If you needed to toss a dress, I'd vote for that one to go. #2 and #5, are they the same dotted dress? Both look fine, but if only choosing one, I vote blue since it's summer time soon and the blue looks brighter (and also brightens up your face more than #2). #3, Sorry I prefer this dress belted. #7-Those jeans fit you PERFECTLY! What a find!

In the first montage, I vote to retire the black dress with large flowers. The striped dress and the one on the right are especially flattering.

I like the large floral dress #3/4 and agree that the blue Target tank dress is more summery than the brown...plus if you keep the brown polka dot Boden dress you would then have 2 similar dresses and one would probably rise to the top with the other one going unused. Just a thought. Which color do you prefer for summer?

I would have no problem keeping both the brown boden and this brown one, as they are 2 disctictly different categories of dressiness. The target one may even end up as a swimsuit coverup.

I like all your dresses (some are even a little dressy). What color are your eyes? Of the blue and brown polkadot, I like both, but I prefer the brown (still a summer print and colors) unless you have bluish eyes. Nice jeans buy!

Heleen, yes, they are called Kut from the Kloth.... normally in English both words would be spelled with a C...cut from cloth. Hmmm, I wonder if that was an intentional decision to be a little naughty?

Well, I'm absolutely no help because I like everything. Actually, I LOVE both polka dot dresses and the woven Mossimo. The length and cut of the knit Merona dresses is perfect on you--a shame to use them as swimsuit cover ups : ( (I'm a bit concerned that if you all start wearing them to the pool, people are going to think that I'm wearing a swimsuit cover up as a dress.) The woven one is quite nice too--I wonder if you could transition that to fall with black boots. Hmm. I think your casual dresses are in great shape. I love the stripes, the florals and geometric prints. Seems we have enough hot weather that these will get wear. Keep 'em all!

ETA: The jeans are perfect. Keep those too!

Both polka dots are great! I prefer the blue if you are going to keep one. (I just bought this one too, and it has great drape!)

3/4 looks great on you, but I know what you mean about a belt when it is really really hot. Can you fashion a light cloth belt? That would be cooler. Having seen the dress, I think it does need a belt; the elasticized waist is very unfinished....

@Heleen, I KNOW!!!! I had an *absolute apoplexy* when I read the brand "Kut" in stores for the first time. (It's a very rude Dutch word).

thanks everyone. I decided to return the blue print dress... something about it was bugging me. I am going to keep both polka dots though...at $20 a piece, I wouldn't mind having one in every color of the rainbow

Kelly, the only reason this dress reads more casual to me is the back. You are more petite, so I'm thinking it translates better on you, but on me it definitely says very casual sun dress. Don't worry, if I wear it over my swimsuit, I"ll wear a sign that says "this is a real dress :-)"

I like the striped dress in the first grouping but almost feel that the prints are too big for you in the others. They are nice in terms of fit and color though. I really like the blue print from Target. I agree it would be even better with a belt but I think it looks very nice without too. I think it is easily a 9. I also like the polka dot in blue.

Kim, please don't evict any of the dresses you currently own. I love them! And I agree with you 100% regarding your choice on the Target dresses. I was going to say return the wrap and keep the other two. Hooray. AND please keep the jeans - they look totally fab!

Lol! Whew! The last thing I need is the SAHM committee chair thinking I'm prancing around in a swim coverup! I think the woven dress is fab though. Are you sure you won't keep it? It looks nice and cool for summer.

Kelly, if the woven dress had been 2 inches longer, or $5 cheaper, I would have kept it. I just couldn't help but feel that it wasn't going to be the first dress I grab for very often.

Aha, the length. I totally understand. I tried the chambray button down shirt dress with the full skirt (not the one Angie recommended) and was surprised at how short it was on me. I guess they have to skimp on fabric somewhere to keep the prices down.

I like all your current casual dresses, and think either of the polka dot dresses will make a great addition (esp. that blue one, lovely!); but sheesh I'm with Kelly, do please wear a sign that lets everyone know it's a regular dress, I think that news would reach all the way up to me! I rather liked the print dress but I understand your length concerns. Great find on the jeans, they look great front and back! And I still love your new sassy shorter 'do
