Playing with scarves...copycat of pinterest pin

I was all dressed when this pinterest picture came up on my feed so I decided to add a scarf to my outfit. I think the attraction of the pinterest outfit is the blend of white and black which I didn't replicate. Also added another picture I like where the scarf is the focus. Meanwhile I'll keep playing with scarves... anyone got any great scarf inspiration.

I adore scarves and have a lot. I keep them visible in my closet because they sometimes give color combo inspirations even if I'm not wearing them on a particular day. i just realized that I use them like paint swatches sometimes. My neck gets cold easily so i also use them as an alternative to higher necklines like turtlenecks in colder weather.

One of my goals for this year/season is to add scarves. I only have winter-weight ones. I like the idea of lighter non-wool ones for spring and autumn, but haven't bitten the bullet yet; I'm too frugal. It seems the ones that tickle my fancy are always the $$$ ones...

You look lovely, Sally. I like the pop of turquoise you have added to your outfit with the scarf. I also love how you have it knotted in a "loose pretzel". I am, like you, very attracted to the graphic black/white look in the first inspiration photo. That might be a great look to try to replicate later on. I am looking forward to bringing out my own scarf collection as soon as the weather cools down. You have given me inspiration.

Love both inspiration photos, and I love your interpretation here too, Sally. The blue with the khaki looks great, and you've tied it all together with the black jacket and sneaks.

You look great in your scarf, Sally -- it's a lovely colour for you! I wear them constantly in winter -- they're needed for warmth here, both outside and in!

Chris I use as paint swatches too as my clothes are often black and can be boring without a splash of colour.

La Pedestrienne I get mine from a scarf shop which is quite cheap. Other times people have given me scarves.

Ledonna I really like pic 3 too and was wondering why the pic was so good...Is it the texture of the denim too?

Suz thanks. I was thinking that a scarf can just add that bit of extra warmth that you might need.

I'm planning to wear several wool challis scarves-- not huge but not skinny. That fabric stays put better for me at work; silk tends to float and slither.. I'm not sure the style is " trending" but am not worried. I finally got some lovely colors that work together and I'm not tired of them!
I'm not as keen on the tightly knotted, , square silk scarves. I do think they have a certain panache but seem too self- aware for what I want to project.
Since narrow scarves and bow blouses are showing up, I plan to create my own version by wearing a narrow scarf tied in a floppy bow with some existing v- neck silky blouses-- coordinating some neutral matching or tonal colors.

Nice! I love the turquoise added to the black/white/olive, really pops. A black and white patterned scarf would echo the original more closely for a starker effect; all black and white would take it further. I can definitely see you in a heavily textured scarf as in the second look!

Same here, LP. This is year of scarves for me. I had bought one a couple of months ago and did use it a bit so I'll be getting more. For summer that is. For winter I already have too many. But I love a ivory plaid cashmere one. It brightens up the dull dark neutrals.

I love scarfs too. I like the way the fabric can frame my face and instantly lift an outfit. The acqua colour of your scarf is gorgeous and I like your trousers.

i love the color of the scarf on you. They really accessorize and add wonderful color. Unfortunately living in Southern California we dont wear too many scarfs. I have a few but only wear when traveling during winter to colder climates. I really enjoy Pinterest, keeps outfits organized and I get so many wonderful ideas.

Nishaa this is my year of scarves too and along with my pleather jacket, i feel my snood and scarves were my signature items. People comment on them.
Thanks MsGreer. I have worn scarves in summer too for a pop of colour but only light silk ones.

Love the pop of color in your choice and, while black/white is a favorite of mine, your olive pants are a fresher choice, I think. Olive is a great way to make tried and true black and white seem new!

And I'm loving Inge's inspiration photos!
